"Shadow and Fury" is an official trailer for The War Within released on 3 June 2024 to promote the beginning of the expansion's beta test. It is the first retail trailer created by the community content creator Hurricane.[1] Narrated by Xal'atath, it showcases some of the main characters of the expansion and their internal struggles.
The Harbinger of the Void has been revealed. With Xal'atath's dark plans set in motion, her gaze now shifts to Azeroth’s heroes and the struggles they face within.
Transcript
The Dark Heart floats in darkness, the camera approaching it until it enters the starry void in the center.
Xal'atath: You convince yourselves that you are of purpose, that your great deeds can make a difference.
Thrall sits on a butte outside Orgrimmar and tries to connect with the elements, but the connection fails.
Xal'atath: But deep down, you know the truth. That when all your illusions are burned away... all that is left...
Thrall roars in anger and smashes the ground next to him.
Xal'atath: ...is your fury.
Thrall's outline turns into a constellation of light points in the Dark Heart. The camera draws back to reveal Xal'atath holding the Dark Heart up to her chest before opening her eyes and smirking at the camera.
Xal'atath: And in the end, your glorious fury... will be mine.
