The Mythic Dungeon International (abbreviated as MDI) is a global program that pits the best Mythic dungeon teams from across the world in a race to the finish line. This event is streamed on the World of Warcraft Twitch channel.
MDI was rebranded from Invitational to International on 17 January 2019.[1]
Stages
- Proving Grounds
Proving Grounds are a qualification period open to any player with a good standing Battle.net account. In order to qualify for the next stage, a group of 5 players would need to team up and complete five level 14 Mythic Keystone Dungeons within a time frame. If successful, each player on the team will have their account flagged to have access to the Tournament Realm and continue onward to the Time Trials.[1]
- Time Trials
Each team will have to make five attempts at each dungeon in a three-dungeon pool. Players are informed on what dungeons and affixes 48 hours prior to the Time Trials beginning.[2] The dungeons and affixes alternate each week.
This is where the 
[70] Time Trials quest is offered from the Trialmaster which provides the 
[Time Trial Keystones].
Teams that have completed the time trials will receive a banner toy associated with the season.

- Group Stage
The top 16 teams from the Time Trials will be divided into two separate groups of eight, with one group competing each weekend in a head-to-head in a best-of-three, double-elimination broadcast. Affixes and dungeon keystone difficulties will vary between each group, with teams having one week to prepare for their matches. They will split a weekly prize pool and the top four teams from each group will advance to the Global Finals.
- Season Finals
Eight teams make it to the online Global Finals at the end of the season.
All-Stars
The All-Stars was a special live exhibition tournament that summoned some of the best dungeon-running teams in the world for BlizzCon 2018. Blizzard brought the worlds of the MDI and the WoW Arena World Championship together in Anaheim for the first time ever.
The top four teams from the MDI Global Finals were invited to the MDI All-Stars, where they tackled the newest Battle for Azeroth dungeons live on stage in front of thousands of attendees and esports fans who watched from online. This was the first MDI tournament to feature Battle for Azeroth.[3]
The Great Push
The Great Push where teams competed by doing the highest Keystone (starting at +24) and attempting to complete the dungeons as fast as possible. Teams were able to repeatedly run any dungeon during this time and by the conclusion of the finals runs, the team's highest keystones from every dungeon would be combined to determine the final standings. This is a race to complete as many Mythic+ dungeons as possible.[4] It was introduced on 7 April 2021.[5]
It has returned on multiple occasions and cycled in place with the regular MDI event:
- Season two in December 2021[6] with a toy,
[Tormented Banner of the Opportune] rewarding to all registered teams that complete under time the two dungeons within the Proving Grounds.[7] - Shadowlands Season 4 along with the banner toy, the [Shrouded Banner of the Opportune].[8]
- Dragonflight Season 2 along with the banner toy, the [Smoldering Banner of the Aspects].[9]
- It plans to return with Dragonflight Season 4.[10]

- The [Mythic Invitational Keystone] may be used for these tournaments.

Season 2
The Group Stage started on April 13 and ended on May 6, 2018.[12]
The Time Trials started on March 27, 2018 to judge the overall skill, expertise, and flexibility of the teams in three dungeons across different difficulties.[13]
- Dungeon 1 - +20 Maw of Souls: Bursting, Quaking, Fortified
- Dungeon 2 - +22 Upper Karazhan: Raging, Explosive, Tyrannical
- Dungeon 3 - +24 Neltharion's Lair: Sanguine, Grievous, Fortified
The Proving Grounds took place on February 27 and March 6[14] and ended on March 13, 2018.[14][15][13]

Season 1
The Proving Grounds took place on 25 July to 8 August 2017.[16] The season ended on 1 October 2017.[17]
