Trivia

  • This ability was mentioned in the April Fools' Day patch 8.8.8.88888 notes: "Memory of Lucid Dreams is now 10% more memorable."

Patch changes

  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now affects Mana for Enhancement shaman (was Maelstrom); Fury for Vengeance demon hunters (was Pain); and Holy Power for Protection paladins.
Previously this essence had a more unique effect for Protection paladins, similar to the one for Fire mages:
  • Major power: Clear your mind and attune yourself with the Heart of Azeroth, increasing your [Shield of the Righteous] recharge rate by 100% for 12 sec.
  • Minor power: <Shield of the Righteous has/Shield of the Righteous and [Seraphim] have> a chance to refund 50% of a charge and heal you for X.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2020-03-02): Corrected an issue with Memory of Lucid Dreams where Frost Mages using [Glacial Spike] and an instant cast [Flurry] could sometimes have their icicle buff count and visual display not match.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2020-01-29): Corrected an issue with Memory of Lucid Dreams that caused Frost Mages' icicle buff counter and visual display to sometimes not match up when using its on-use effect.
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.3.0 (2020-01-14): The follower experience requirements for Ranks 2 and 3 of Memory of Lucid Dreams have been reduced from 3,000/6,000 to 2,400/4,800.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2019-07-16): [Lucid Dreams] now refunds 50% less mana in PvP situations, now heals for 50% less in PvP situations when it refunds resources, and now provides 50% less Leech when activated in PvP situations. The Mana generation rate provided by activating [Memory of Lucid Dreams] is unchanged.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2019-07-09): Memory of Lucid Dreams no longer removes stealth when activated while [Stealth] or [Prowl] are active.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2019-07-03): Classes with pets that use energy will no longer cause their pets to gain an increased energy regeneration rate when using Memory of Lucid Dreams.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2019-07-02):
    • Resolved an issue that caused Lucid Dreams to break the user's stealth when refunding resources.
    • Memory of Lucid Dreams now correctly lasts the full duration for Fire Mages, Frost Mages, and Protection Paladins.
    • Lucid Dreams's proc rate has been reduced when used by Fire Mages.
Developers' note: The Minor Power on Memory of Lucid Dreams has a custom implementation for Fire Mages and how it interacts with [Fire Blast] charges. However, this wound up being too strong relative to other Essences' Minor Powers. As such we're reducing its proc rate by 33% for Fire Mages, which should keep this as a very strong option to use in the Minor Slot, but much closer to the potency of other Minor Powers.
