Focus is the primary resource for hunters and their pets. Focus is similar to a rogue's energy resource: It has a default max of 100 regardless of the hunter's level, it regenerates over time, and its passive regeneration rate is not affected by being in combat. Its passive regeneration is slower than energy, but each hunter specialization also has at least one focus-generating ability with low or no cooldown.
By default, focus passively regenerates at a rate of 5 per second.

Trivia
- Focus's internal color code is ⬤ #FF8040.
- During the early stages of the original World of Warcraft's development, hunters used Focus and it only regenerated when standing still and would lose any current Focus if the player moved.[1] However, this distinguishing feature was dropped before launch: Hunters were switched to mana, leaving focus limited to hunter pets until Cataclysm.
