Affix information appears in the Objectives frame - this run featured the Sanguine affix

An affix changes how mobs behave in a Mythic+ dungeon run. Affixes appear on all Mythic+ dungeon keys, but the number and type depend on the keystone level. The first affix is gained at level 2, the second at level 5, and the third at level 10. If the Keystone has an affix listed on it, then all of the enemies in that Mythic+ dungeon will inherit this property unless specified.

Active affixes are set game-wide on a week-by-week basis, and remain the same for all players until the next weekly reset. This means that every keystone will have the same set of level 2, 5, and 14 affixes for the week.

Information about each affix appears on the Font of Power interface, the Mythic+ Dungeons interface, and the objectives frame (where the timer and kill count appear) during the dungeon run.

The War Within changes

TheWarWithin-Icon-Inline.png This section concerns content related to The War Within.

With The War Within Season 1, the affixes work a lot differently compared to past seasons. Most affixes will not be returning and will have follow level path instead. This new format maybe a return of the seasonal affixes or as possibly expansion-long affixes. However, it is unclear if new seasons will see changes to the affixes.

Level 2 affixes

Players will see their first affix as one of the following, cycling each week:

These affixes can be used as a benefit to the players, providing a buff to players rather than the enemy.

Level 4 affixes

At this keystone level, players will see the return of either the  [Tyrannical] or  [Fortified] affixes, cycling each week.

Level 7 affixes

At this keystone level, players will get the  [Challenger's Peril] affix.

Level 10 affixes

At this keystone level, the other affix from level 4 is now active, meaning players will now deal with both  [Tyrannical] and  [Fortified] every week.

Level 12 affixes

At this keystone level, the level 2 "Xalatath's Bargain" affixes are removed and replaced with the  [Xal'atath's Guile] affix.

Level 2 affixes

A level 7 Keystone has two affixes

Mythic +2 alternates between two affixes each week:

  •  [Fortified] — Increases the health and damage of non-boss enemies.
  •  [Tyrannical] — Increases the health and damage of boss enemies.

Level 5 affixes

Mythic +5 adds one of the following affixes:

  • (New)  [Incorporeal] — While in combat, incorporeal beings appear and attempt to destabilize players with spells that reduce their damage and healing done. Incorporeal beings are susceptible to all forms of crowd control.
  • (New)  [Afflicted] — While in combat, Afflicted Souls appear that seek the aid of players. Afflicted Souls spawn with poison, curse, and disease afflictions. Removing any of these afflictions or restoring the soul to full health causes it to despawn. Fail to remove their afflictions in time will inflict players with a negative status effect.
  • (New)  [Entangling] — While in combat, entangling vines snare players.
  •  [Storming] — While in combat, enemies periodically summon damaging whirlwinds.
  •  [Volcanic] — While in combat, enemies periodically cause gouts of flame to erupt beneath the feet of distant players.

Level 10 affixes

Mythic +10 adds one of the following affixes:

  •  [Bolstering] — When any non-boss enemy dies, its death cry empowers nearby allies, increasing their maximum health and damage by 20%.
  •  [Bursting] — When slain, non-boss enemies explode, causing all players to suffer damage over 4 sec. This effect stacks.
  •  [Raging] — Non-boss enemies enrage at 30% health remaining, dealing 100% increased damage until defeated.
  •  [Sanguine] — When slain, enemies leave behind a lingering pool of ichor that heals their allies and damages players.
  •  [Spiteful] — Fiends rise from the corpses of non-boss enemies and pursue random players.

Unique affixes

Legion Timewalking Mythic+ runs uses the  [Infernal] affix.

Retired affixes

Level 10 seasonal affixes

Removed from game The subject of this section was removed from World of Warcraft in patch 10.1.0.

Mythic +10 adds a seasonal affix which, unlike the others, does not change week by week. It spans the entire Mythic+ season and usually shares a theme with the current raid tier. These affixes often require greater changes in strategy and pathing through the dungeon, either to reach all objectives or deliberately omit one (incurring a unique trade-off in the final boss fight). Thus, dungeons beginning at 10+ may have an entirely different feel than easier ones or previous seasons.

With Dragonflight Season 2, the seasonal affix has been retired. Since Dragonflight introduced the dungeon rotation to keep each season fresh and interesting, the additional variety provided by seasonal affixes was no longer needed.[1]

Dragonflight
  • Dragonflight Season 1:  [Thundering] — While in combat, players are periodically caught in Raszageth's unending storm. As the storm passes, players discharge excess energy that can damage and stun allies.
Shadowlands
  • Shadowlands Season 4:  [Shrouded] — Nathrezim infiltrators have disguised themselves among enemies throughout the dungeon. Cartel Ta will reward you handsomely for assisting in their capture.
  • Shadowlands Season 3:  [Encrypted] — Enemies throughout the dungeon possess relics of the First Ones. Destroy the relics to summon the First Ones' Automa and gain powerful bonuses, based on the order in which they were destroyed.
  • Shadowlands Season 2:  [Tormented] — Servants of the Jailer can be found throughout the dungeon and grant powerful boons when defeated. If a servant is not dealt with, they empower the final boss.
  • Shadowlands Season 1:  [Prideful] — Players overflow with pride as they defeat non-boss enemies, eventually forming a Manifestation of Pride. Defeating this Manifestation greatly empowers players.

The following is a list of non-seasonal affixes that were removed from the game, and will no longer appear on keystones.

  •  [Inspiring] — Some non-boss enemies have an inspiring presence that strengthens their allies. (Removed in patch 10.0.2)
