- While in combat, afflicted souls periodically appear and seek the aid of players.
Afflicted is a level 7 affix for Mythic+.
Notes
Up to two wispy white ghosts with the name "Afflicted Soul" have a chance to appear every 30 seconds while in combat. These afflicted souls are categorized as friendly targets, and so players can use healing and other helpful spells on them. The souls always spawn with poison, disease, and curse debuffs, and start with 0% HP. If any of these debuffs is removed, or their HP reaches 100%, the Afflicted will instantly despawn peacefully. However, the souls are also casting a debuff spell and if it can complete the 10-second cast time, the party suffers a large loss of haste for 10 seconds. The haste loss can stack if multiple or sequential casts are allowed to complete. While there are some guaranteed spawns, for most spawn checks, it is not certain whether both souls will spawn, or if any souls will spawn at all. Afflicted Beings will also despawn harmlessly if the party leaves combat.
Tips
This affix is primarily handled by classes which have healing and dispel abilities. These tend to be classes with a healer specialization, although mages can also use 
[Remove Curse] on the soul. This is because the fastest way to deal with the affix is talenting into and using a dispel spell, and players from these classes (even while currently in DPS specs) can instantly use those spells on the afflicted soul. While players with the Healer specialization can also use a talented dispel spell, their increased healing means they can also consider healing the soul to full HP. For example, they may need to deal with a pair of Souls and their dispel is on cooldown, or they need to save their dispel for a more important dispel from a non-affix monster already present in the dungeon. As an additional note, the afflicted souls do not have a debuff from the magic dispel type, so the standard healer dispel will not work without the upgrade talent, and souls will also not be cleansed by 
[Mass Dispel], nor Warlocks' 
[Singe Magic].
