  • All enemies' melee attacks apply a stacking blight that inflicts damage over time and reduces healing received.

Necrotic was a level 7 affix for Mythic+.

This affix was retired with the start of Dragonflight Season 1.

Patch changes

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.2 (2022-11-15): Removed.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.2.0 (2022-02-22): Duration reduced to 5s (was 6s).
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.1.5 (2021-11-02): Duration reduced to 6s (was 9s).
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.1.0 (2021-06-29): Trash mobs will now apply Necrotic stacks half as often.
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.1.0 (2018-12-11): Debuff renamed to Necrotic Wound and now a physical debuff that deals physical damage (was previously named Necrotic Rot, magic type, dealing Plague damage).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Healing reduction reduced to 2% per stack (was 3% per stack).
  • Legion Patch 7.2.0 (2017-03-28): Necrotic Wound will now expire after leaving combat. Duration reduced to 9 seconds (was 10 seconds).
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Added.
