Whelgar's Excavation Site

Whelgar's Excavation Site lies east of Menethil Harbor and southwest of Dun Modr in the Wetlands. Once a peaceful dwarven digsite, it was overrun by mottled raptors. A small group of dwarves once resided here, trapped on a ridge overlooking the dig site, but they have since abandoned the site and evacuated to the nearby Whelgar's Retreat, where they set up a camp just off the main road.

Paleolithic Elementals and Living Fossils, as well as the named Sarltooth (formerly alive and a quest objective, now a rare spawn), roam the area.
