Val'zuun is a man'ari eredar informant of unknown origin[1] found sitting in an alcove of the Underbelly Descent in Dalaran.
History
Legion
During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, Val'zuun was one of the Uncrowned contacts that subtlety rogues in search of the Fangs of the Devourer spoke to in order to learn the whereabouts of the eredar assassin and wielder of the Fangs, Akaari Shadowgore. He told the rogue that Akaari was already present in Dalaran, spying for her masters, but said that he wouldn't reveal her exact location until the rogue brought him a rune of portals.[2] After Valeera Sanguinar and the subtlety rogue "borrowed" the rune from Archmage Celindra, Val'zuun informed them that Akaari was at the Legerdemain Lounge.[3] However, once the rogue confronted and defeated Akaari, it was revealed to be a ruse: Akaari's body transformed into that of a Shadowgore Bloodmaiden upon death.[4]
Valeera confronted Val'zuun, but he claimed that he did not know about the plot and said that he could open a portal to Akaari's stronghold using the rune of portals he was provided earlier.[5] Keeping his promise, Val'zuun created a Twisted Gateway to Shadowgore Citadel and guided the subtlety rogue through the fortress from afar, allowing the rogue to confront the real Akaari, kill her, and claim the Fangs of the Devourer. When the rogue returned, Val'zuun congratulated them on their victory and told them that Valeera was awaiting their return, before he walked off into the Underbelly and disappeared.[6]

A few years later, Val'zuun attended the Tishamaat on the Exodar. Though his motivations differ from the Penitents, he acknowledged that they share the same goals and offered Arzaal his blade if needed.
