Location The White Lady

Moongrove is area fully overgrown with great pines, and home to all druids that came on White Lady. Priestesses of the Moon also wandered here, believing that Elune can be found here... and they were right. In city of Apa'ro, named in honor of Malorne now both priests and druids under Elune command seek to protect forest from any danger. And there are more than just few dangers threatening this forest. On north, burning path of lava flows into the forest, and near this river, demons are seeking control of forest at Invasion Point: Acheron. There is also Scale of Ysera, place where lietenauts of Dreamer are sent to battle Nightmare corrupting grove. At east, in village of Ragaan, Bloodtree worgen, addicts of [Bloodlust] causing herb known as bloodthorn stir and prepare to tear down the walls of Apa'ro. Led by warlock Rakkun, they seek to feast on blood of moon goddess, believing that it will grant them absolute control over curse and unequaled destructive power. Bloodtree worgen are comprised of five different packs, from which two came from Azeroth.

History

When fragments of Legion-conquered worlds hit White Lady, this place was almost untouched. However, it was showered by life energy seeping from Shattered Lands to the south, and augmented by powers of Elune currently residing here. Thus the Moongrove was born, forest of titanic pines, where the moonlight seemed to come almost from very soil. While the Cataclysm was raging on Azeroth, and White Lady shaping to its new image, Raya Stormveil, val'kyr defected from Lich King, gathered her underlings, most notably Stormweb and Nahak'bar nerubians, and went to Ashenvale in hope of finding new ally. She found Rakkun, worgen warlock with big ambitions and devious plan to accomplish. Raya agreed with him and together, they created Bloodtree Union consisting of five worgen packs - Bloodtree, defected from Gilneas and following Rakkun from beginning, Nightbane, coming from Duskwood and hearing call for battle, Crimsonback, long lurking in shadows of Silverpine and hungry for blood, Gorebark, brutal pack hailing from primal first Druids of the Scythe, and Terrowulf, last part of chain to shackle the world, coming from Ashenvale and hosting the practitioners of dark arts, warlocks and necromancers. Then, this army craving for blood entered the unholy pact: they pledged themselves to the Burning Legion for simple goal - they needed demons. And they needed them for their final aim: to kill the Moon Goddess. Rakkun, in his blood vision, saw that life essence of Elune would give him enough power to break free of Legion's grasp and conquer the Azeroth for himself. After coming the Bloodtree begun to rise in power and soon, they started to unleash their dark invasion on Moongrove. Covered by agents of Legion pouring from north, they were able to claim much of south and east parts of forests, clawing at white walls of Apa'ro. As if this bloodlust-ridden wasn't bad enough, they found rare herb growing here - a bloodthorn, small thorny plant with red leafs, and discovered that it could induce blood rage unequalled by any mortal they encountered before. But the problems with wolf-men wasn't clearly enough for twists of fate, and dark hands of Old Gods also breached onto the hallowed forests, causing Nightmare corrupt the primordial Emerald Dream found here even before anything on Azeroth lived, and from this spark of darkness, tendrils of corruption begun to overtake western parts of forest, causing severe problems to Forestheart Expedition stationed at New Auberdine. Currently, Moongrove is one of the most problematic areas of White Lady, and every force is trying to rip one part for themselves.

Geography

The majority of Teldrassil's upper reaches is open forest and it resembles a mid-sized forested island. Darnassus takes up a large chunk on the western side of this island, while the smaller cities of Aldrassil and Dolanaar dot the remaining forest. All forms of terrain exist here, including streams, full-sized lakes, and a few hills that might be considered mountains.[1] The waterways were created and continues to be fed only by the dew collected by the massive World Tree, and the night elves manipulated the waterways around Darnassus to maintain them and the splendor of the Temple Gardens.[2]

The entire zone of Teldrassil is in fact one huge tree, grown on an island off the coast of Kalimdor. As such, there are no ore deposits to speak of here and the night elves are not known as crafty blacksmiths or miners. However, because the tree is so full of life, herbs are numerous.
