Thundermar is a Wildhammer dwarf settlement in the Twilight Highlands. With the rest of Thundermar in ruins, the remaining Wildhammer currently make their home either here, or in Kirthaven. From Thundermar, the Wildhammer launch hit and run attacks on the town ruins to salvage supplies and to thin the numbers of the Dragonmaw clan, who are also trying to gain control over the ruins. Thundermar's leader is Colin Thundermar, leader of the Thundermar clan, who generally don't get along with the other clans, especially the Firebeards. Aside from a Dragonmaw raid every now and then, the town is relatively peaceful. Although in a time of war, the denizens of the town continue with their lives, raising gryphons, and brewing ale.

Thundermar is one of the last standing settlements of the Wildhammer clan. Players are first sent here in the quest A [30-35] A Coward's Due. Thundermar shows the unique architectural style of the Wildhammer dwarves, a style that isn't seen anywhere else outside of the Highlands. Thundermar is also the home to the Wildhammer clan quartermaster. After players have finished the quest chains, multiple daily quests open up here.

Trivia

  • The kegs in several basements, such as Sloan Simmersquall's, are labeled as "Grimbergen" with the picture of an eagle. This is an actual real Belgian beer that uses the same iconography.
