Valdrakken

Welcome, fellow traveler. I am Chef Sungshin Ironpaw, Guide to the Ways and administrant to the Halfhill Market.

A curious letter made it's way to me in the Valley of the Four Winds, written by Chef Morsel. He informed me that these Isles had opened and that he and his partner would be hosting a garden party of sorts. They would use it as an opportunity to showcase the rare ingredients of the Dragon Isles, as well as the wide variety of cuisines Azeroth has to offer.

I simply couldn't refuse a request to exhibit the wonders of our great Pandaria!

Please feel free to try my own offerings. We Pandaren are always on the move, so we've found food that travels with you is always the most satisfying.

Notes and trivia

  • Sungshin's grandfather told her stories of Lin family noodle shop on the Timeless Isle, which was famous,[2] and knew details like of the turtles just offshore of the isle.[3]
  • The rice pudding recipe is her favorite.[4] She asks newcomers to the cooking school to follow it to prove their skills.
  • In early Legion development, she was a judge in the Cooking Tournament in Dalaran.

Speculation

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Sungshin appears to be an older matronly pandaren, perhaps a grandmother. If her grandfather, who likely visited the Timeless Isle, was the last generation to see it, it could mean the isle was last present about five generations ago.
