A glimpse of the world-soul in a vision of the Radiant Song.

The Radiant Song (sometimes Radiant Vision)[1] is a recurring vision or series of visions of "someone calling out from the heart of the world, like a voice from a dream"[2][3] being experienced by people all across Azeroth.[4] It is believed that the song originates from Azeroth's world-soul as a cry for help or a warning[5] of an imminent threat from the Void and its Harbinger, Xal'atath.[1] Either way, the song will compel the heroes of the world to investigate its origins.[3]

The song was first heard for a brief moment after Amirdrassil's blooming. Thrall at first believed that it could have been Amirdrassil's voice, but Jaina Proudmoore felt that it sounded "far more ancient".[6] Khadgar describes the vision as one "filled with light and benevolence"; to Archmage Modera, the vision felt warm and comforting, "like coming home".[7] The visions can sometimes prove painful or overbearing, and they are growing stronger with time.[2][4] Not everyone hears the Radiant Song. Archmage Modera is the only member of the Council of Six to have heard it.[7] Magni Bronzebeard, the Speaker of Azeroth, does not hear it, as he has not heard Azeroth in years.[8] Alleria Windrunner likewise does not hear it, as she receives visions from the Void instead.[9]

During Radiant Echoes, the pre-patch event for The War Within, as well as Worldsong Memory events during the expansion, Azeroth manifests "radiant echoes" of all the foes that have harmed her in the past.[10]

The inhabitants of K'aresh once received a vision similar to the Radiant Song shortly before the planet was invaded by the void lord Dimensius;[1] they realized too late that their world had tried to warn them of the coming danger.[8]
