Prismatic Blade

Quel'Delar

The Prismatic Blades, also referred to as the Prismatic Blades of Quel'Serrar, prismatic dragon blades, or Ancient Dragonforged Blades are ancient weapons made well before the War of the Ancients, when the five main dragonflights lived in harmony. Mortal champions have long used these weapons to combat evil.

Creation

A normal blade of Quel'Serrar has to be crafted in ceremony with a dragon, who has to willingly heat and mold the enchanted metal with their breath, and then also need to contain the fury of their own enchantment by using their blood as temper. Over the course of 8,000 years, only a handful of these blades were created - each blade unique in both power and appearance. The blades of Quel'Serrar would take on the characteristics of their draconic creator.

Prismatic Blades are what happen when, instead of a single dragon, the combined might of the five Aspects is used in the creation of a blade of Quel'Serrar. These weapons are rare, and transform in the hands of their wielders, molding their magic to their masters' strengths. The Dragon Aspects worked alongside the night elves to forge the prismatic blades, especially with the magesmith Luminarian, creator of the runeblade Felo'melorn.

Known

• Quel'Serrar and Quel'Delar, sister swords and among the greatest prismatic blades. Alexstrasza gifted Quel'Serrar to the kaldorei, and Quel'Delar to the quel'dorei.
