Oxoria was a grand proto-dragon matriarch who resided in the southern jungles prior to the War of the Scaleborn.[1] By the end of the war her scales had long since petrified into stone, and she utilized the elemental powers of earth in combat.[2]

When news of the dragonflights stealing eggs from primal dragon nests reached Oxoria, she and her brood departed their distant home to join the Primalist cause in Harrowsdeep.[3] Oxoria and her mate participated in the conflict at Cinderfrost Vale, where Oxoria's mate was slain by Levarian — in retaliation, Oxoria took out his eye.[4] Later in the war, Oxoria was sent by Vyranoth to try and seize Raszageth's prison from the forces of the black dragonflight: prior to the Battle of Emberfall, one of Neltharion's compromised agents leaked his strategies to Oxoria but her losses in the battle were still great enough that she was forced back.[5]

She participated in the Primalist push on Valdrakken and battled Neltharion himself, but was forced to withdraw from the conflict by the arrival of the green dragonflight.[2] Years later, Neltharion would kill her during the Battle of Harrowsdeep by breaking her neck.[6]

Notes

  • Oxoria is indicated to be unique in her style of parenting among proto-dragons as she keeps her fledged offspring close to her and encourages them to remain bonded and function as a family.[1] However, Dawn of the Aspects indicates that even adult offspring remain close to their families across multiple different broods of proto-dragons and that these extended family groups are the norm among proto-dragons.[7]
