Mercia's Legacy: Chapter Four
My journey through the Temple of Humility was a blessedly short one, after that. She never did tell me what it was she saw in me when we first met, but it was and still is the only Rite I have ever overcome in one attempt. I suppose that does have some bearing on why, much later, I became her Hand.
She was a joy to serve beside. Never was a made to feel inferior, nor unwelcome, nor foolish in her company. Together we guided many, many souls on their path to ascension. All seemed right and true with our realm until the day the Devourers arrived.
