Land's End Beach
Land's End Beach[54, 92] is the southernmost point of Tanaris, in the far southeastern corner of Kalimdor. During the Cataclysm, two Bilgewater Cartel ships escaping the eruption of Mount Kajaro crashed here. They were headed for either Durotar[1] or Gadgetzan,[2] but the survivors do not realize they've landed on Kalimdor and believe themselves to be on an uncharted island instead. Shortly after the shipwreck, the survivors found a glowing titan artifact which drove them delusional and violent. Gadgetzan sent a few goblins in flying machines to rescue the survivors, but at that point the castaways had all gone insane and killed their would-be rescuers.[1]
The Crazed Bilgewater Survivors now roam the beach, running around both the wreckage by the water and in a makeshift camp close to the mountains, attacking anyone who gets near. Their leader, Meatface, guards the artifact in a locked chest next to a graveyard where they bury their dead.[3] Surf Gliders and Duneshore Crabs roam the eastern side of the beach. Another crewmember, the rare mob Fronkle the Disturbed, sometimes appears in a crashed bomber on the eastern coast.
During the Cataclysm, Kelsey Steelspark's Gnomeregan Covert Ops agents set up Steelspark Station in the northwestern corner of the beach in order to investigate what could've allowed the goblins to survive the crash.[4] They recovered the artifact from Meatface for study.[3] After the Fourth War, Rexxar and Zekhan visited the area, following up on Marvon Rivetseeker's concerns about a Bilgewater vessel. The duo found the area still inhabited by Bilgewater survivors, who were as crazed as ever and still believe themselves cut off from the world.[5]
Notes
- Prior to Cataclysm, two unnamed islands were located off the beach. They had to be visited in
[60] Draconic for Dummies, part of the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain, but due to the vast stretch of Fatigue waters between them and the mainland, they could not be reached without tricks or completing Meridith the Mermaiden's quest
[60] Love Song for Narain. - At launch, Land's End Beach was one of the remotest and least visited locations in the game, as it was an elite area where no quests took place and which could only be accessed by taking a long swim from the shores to the east. Patch 1.9.0 made it slightly less obscure by directing players here as part of the aforementioned Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain, and in Wrath of the Lich King visiting the beach became a requirement for the achievement
[Explore Tanaris]. Cataclysm added Tanaris storyline quests here and opened a passage on the western side for easy travel, ending its isolation and making it a normal subzone like any other. - Kelsey Steelspark muses that she wishes her nemesis, Megs Dreadshredder, had escaped Kezan one of these ships and ended up among the Crazed Bilgewater Survivors, instead of on Gallywix's Yacht whose passengers ended up crashing on the Lost Isles and joining the Horde.[6]
- Land's End Beach was declared the second-best beach on Azeroth in the humorous article "Azeroth's Six Best Beaches". The article claims that the area was named for "beachgoer Nathan Land, who met his demise here", but a footnote adds that "This statement [is] almost certainly not correct".

Land's End Beach is adjacent to the Cursed Landing in Uldum, where a tomb curse drove a gnomish expedition mad. This curse and the Land's End Beach artifact are possibly related given their proximity.
