Heritage armor
- For the Naxxramas item, see [Heritage].
Heritage armor sets are cosmetic rewards unique to each playable race. Their cosmetic nature means they are transmoggable over any armor type, from plate to cloth. The set is unlocked account-wide, and can be worn or transmogrified by any character of the armor's race.
How to unlock
Allied races can unlock their set by leveling an allied race character to level 50 without the use of the Character Boost, Race Change, or Faction Change services and prior to patch 8.1.5 the original Recruit A Friend extra level bonus also prevented receiving the armor.[1] Upon reaching level 50, they automatically receive a quest to speak to their faction leader in their capital and receive their armor. Welcome Back Gift (aka Gear Update) would not make an allied race ineligible for it.
Core races can unlock their set by reaching level 50 and completing a short racial questline. For questline details, see the article for each armor set.

Notes
- As of The War Within, pandaren are the only race to not have a heritage armor.
- The Heritage of the Mag'har, Lion's Heritage, and Heritage of Draenor sets come in three different color variants each.
- The Heritage of the Sin'dorei, Heritage of Gilneas, and Lion's Heritage sets come with a pants and robe version.
- In a May 2019 interview, Morgan Day indicated that goblin and worgen heritage armors would be released alongside those races' model updates in patch 8.2.5.[2] In August, however, Community Manager Kaivax clarified that no new heritage armor questlines would be added in 8.2.5[3] and that the sets would come in a later patch.[4] On October 7th, the sets were confirmed as coming in patch 8.3.[5]
- The Heritage of the Vulpera is the only allied race heritage armor that is not received in the allied race's starting zone nor from their leader. Instead of from Kiro in the Valley of Honor, vulpera receive their armor from Hagashi at the Vulpera Hideaway.
- Before patch 10.1.0, core races also required having Exalted reputation with their respective racial faction on any max level character.
