Adventure Guide

Tucked away in the depths of the Shadowed Crucible, Neltharion's sanctum was a place of refuge and research for the Earth-Warder. Some say that echoes of his powerful presence still linger here, contemplating the future of the black dragonflight and how to obtain the power to ensure its success.

Overview

The Echo of Neltharion periodically raises walls of Twisted Earth throughout the chamber. As the battle begins, Neltharion causes Echoing Fissures to erupt in the newly confined space. Upon reaching 60% remaining health, Neltharion Surrenders to Corruption, summoning Voices From Beyond throughout the chamber. Once all Voices From Beyond are slain, Neltharion begins to rip open portals to overwhelm players with Twisted Abberations^[sic] and the might of his Ebon Destruction.

Damage Dealers

Rushing Darkness knocks players backwards with enough force to destroy Twisted Earth.
Neltharion protects himself with Shadow Barrier upon reaching 35% health if any Voices From Beyond remain.
Twisted Aberrations periodically emerge from the portals created by Sunder Reality.

Healers

Calamitous Strike greatly increases players' damage taken.
Players hit by Sunder Shadow, are vulnerable just before Shadow Strike.
Shatter inflicts damage to all players each time a wall is shattered.

Tanks

Calamitous Strike greatly increases players' damage taken.
Sunder Shadow inflicts Physical damage and leaves players' corporeal bodies vulnerable to Shadow Strike.
Calamitous Strike and Sunder Shadow knock players back with enough force to destroy Twisted Earth.

Abilities

Stage One: The Earth-Warder

Twisted Earth — Neltharion raises walls of earth from the chamber's floor, causing Volcanic Blast where they emerge.
- Volcanic Blast — The erupting segment of Twisted Earth inflicts X Volcanic damage to players in 7 yards, and knocks them away.
Volcanic Heart — Neltharion infuses players with volcanic energy that explodes after 7 sec, inflicting X Volcanic damage to players within 10 yards, and an additional Y Volcanic damage every 1.5 sec for 15 sec. This effect stacks.
Echoing Fissure — Neltharion shatters the ground beneath him, inflicting X Volcanic damage players within 24 yards of the impact, and an additional Y Volcanic damage to all other players. The effect echoes at each previous location when Echoing Fissure is cast. Each cast causes Collapsed Earth and spreads Seeping Lava.
- Collapsed Earth — Rubble falls from the ceiling, inflicting X Nature damage to players within 3.5 yards and stunning them for 3 sec.
- Seeping Lava — Lava seeps out from each Echoing Fissure, inflicting X Volcanic damage every 1 sec. to players within the area.
Rushing Darkness — Neltharion blasts several players for X Shadow damage and knocks them away, inflicting an additional Y Shadow damage to any players between Neltharion and his targets and silencing them for 3 sec. Colliding with a segment of Twisted Earth causes it to Shatter.
- Shatter — Impacting a segment of Twisted Earth shatters it, inflicting X Physical damage to the impacting player. Fragments burst from the impact, inflicting Y Physical damage to all players every 1 sec. for 6 sec. This effect stacks. Pelts the chamber with Shattered Rock.
  - On Mythic difficulty, each impact against a segment of Twisted Earth increases damage taken from Shatter.
  - Shattered Rock — Rock fragments inflict X Nature damage to players standing at the impact location.
Calamitous Strike — Neltharion strikes his current target with his massive blade, inflicting X Physical damage and knocking them away. Increases Physical damage taken by 200% for 37 sec. Colliding with a segment of Twisted Earth causes it to Shatter.
- Shatter — Impacting a segment of Twisted Earth shatters it, inflicting X Physical damage to the impacting player. Fragments burst from the impact, inflicting Y Physical damage to all players every 1 sec. for 6 sec. This effect stacks. Pelts the chamber with Shattered Rock.
  - On Mythic difficulty, each impact against a segment of Twisted Earth increases damage taken from Shatter.

Intermission: Giving in to Darkness

Raze the Earth — Neltharion causes any remaining Twisted Earth to erupt with a Volcanic Blast and Collapsed Earth to fall.
- Volcanic Blast — The erupting segment of Twisted Earth inflicts X Volcanic damage to players in 7 yards, and knocks them away.
- Collapsed Earth — Rubble falls from the ceiling, inflicting X Nature damage to players within 3.5 yards and stunning them for 3 sec.
Surrender to Corruption — Neltharion surrenders to darkness, inflicting X Shadow damage to all players every 1 sec. and a final burst of Y Shadow damage as the channel ends. Neltharion afflicts several players with Corruption.

Stage Two: Corruption Takes Hold

Voice From Beyond
- Empower Shadows — The Voice from Beyond empowers Neltharion with dark power, allowing him to cast Shadow Barrier upon reaching 35% remaining health.
  - Shadow Barrier — Neltharion shields himself in darkness, reducing damage taken by 99%.
- Hidden in Void — The Voice From Beyond shrouds itself in shadow, absorbing X damage and concealing itself from players unaffected by Corruption while the shield holds. When the shield breaks, the Voice From Beyond begins casting Ruptured Veil.
  - Ruptured Veil — The Voice From Beyond ruptures the veil of reality, inflicting X Shadow damage to all players every 4 sec. until slain.
Volcanic Heart — Neltharion infuses players with volcanic energy that explodes after 7 sec, inflicting X Volcanic damage to players within 10 yards, and an additional Y Volcanic damage every 1.5 sec for 15 sec. This effect stacks.
Twisted Earth — Neltharion raises walls of earth from the chamber's floor, causing Volcanic Blast where they emerge.
- Volcanic Blast — The erupting segment of Twisted Earth inflicts X Volcanic damage to players in 7 yards, and knocks them away.
Corruption — Neltharion's corruption seeps into players' soul, turning them hostile to allies but allowing them to attack creatures Hidden in Void for 30 sec. Breaking the shield of a Voice From Beyond Hidden in Void clears Corruption from all players.
Umbral Annihilation — Neltharion draws in dark power to annihilate players, inflicting X Shadow damage to all players. Each cast increases damage done by Umbral Annihilation by 100%. This effect stacks.
Crumbling Facade — Rubble periodically falls from the damaged ceiling, inflicting X Volcanic damage to players within 3 yards.
Rushing Darkness — Neltharion blasts several players for X Shadow damage and knocks them away, inflicting an additional Y Shadow damage to any players between Neltharion and his targets and silencing them for 3 sec. Colliding with a segment of Twisted Earth causes it to Shatter.

Sunder Shadow — Neltharion sunders his current target's shadow from their body, inflicting X Physical damage. Neltharion immediately attacks the target's body with Shadow Strike. While in control of their shadow, the target is incorporeal and can move through Twisted Earth.
- Shadow Strike — Neltharion strikes the player's body while they are incorporeal, inflicting X Physical damage to the body and hurtling it towards the player. The player rejoins their body and receives its missing health as Shadow damage. Increases damage taken from Sunder Shadow by 300% for 40 sec. The player's body colliding with a segment of Twisted Earth causes it to Shatter.
- Shatter — Impacting a segment of Twisted Earth shatters it, inflicting X Physical damage to the impacting player. Fragments burst from the impact, inflicting Y Physical damage to all players every 1 sec. for 6 sec. This effect stacks. Pelts the chamber with Shattered Rock.
  - On Mythic difficulty, each impact against a segment of Twisted Earth increases damage taken from Shatter.

Stage Three: Reality Fractures

Sunder Reality — Neltharion rips nearby Twisted Earth into portals to the void realm, inflicting X Shadow damage to players in 5 yards of the impact. The portal continuously allows Twisted Aberrations into reality. Players standing in portals gain Sundered Reality.
- Twisted Aberration – Twisted Aberrations hunger for flesh and chaos, endlessly hunting down life to shred and devour with their razor sharp claws and teeth.
  - In Heroic difficulty, Twisted Aberrations grow continuously stronger from Unstable Mutation.
  - Unstable Mutation — Twisted Aberrations continuously mutate, increasing damage done by 75% every 2 sec.
- Sundered Reality — Portals distort reality for nearby players, inflicting X Shadow damage every 1.5 sec. to players within the area, reducing damage taken from Ebon Destruction by 99%.
  - On Mythic difficulty, each portal dissipates after protecting a single player from Ebon Destruction.
Ebon Destruction — Neltharion draws upon his might and blasts all players for X Volcanic damage, and an additional Y Fire damage every 1.5 sec for 15 sec. This power dispels any Sundered Reality near players.
- Note: On Mythic difficulty, the dungeon journal does not note the Fire damage ending, nor does it make a note of the change.
