Dragonskull Island
Area map

Dragonskull Island [76, 34] is a fairly large island off the northeastern shore of the Forbidden Reach. So named by the shape of the rock formation on the southeastern side of the island, Dragonskull is hollowed out by a large cave. The island is bordered by the Stormsunder Mountain and Stormsunder Crater to the south, the Hornswog Grounds to the southeast, Froststone Peak to the west, and Warder's Solace to the northwest.

While the island is initially inhabited by Earthshatter Elementals and Fracturing Rumblers, during the return, they've been replaced by Earth Elementals and Primal Boulders.

Herbalists may find some  [Dormant Lifebloom Seeds] from any herb node in the Forbidden Reach. Take them to the Awakened Soil at [75.1, 31.9] above the cave. Plant the seeds to spawn the rare Kangalo! Defeat it for some herbs. The summoner is granted bonus loot: 5x  [Artisan's Mettle], and an  [Undigested Hochenblume Petal].

A Dragon Glyph is hidden behind the peak near some trees.

History

The cave in Dragonskull Island was once used by Neltharion to test prospective dracthyr scalecommanders.[1][2]

While Scalecommander Emberthal tracked down Scalecommander Sarkareth to Dragonskull Island, she and the adventurer witnessed memories from the past and defeated the risen skeletons of failed scalecommanders in the cave. After getting out, Emberthal confronted Sarkareth, but let him fly away in the end, stating that she didn't want to fight him, since it would mean spilling the blood of her fellow dracthyr that stand between her and Sarkareth.[2]

Adventurers were later sent back to the island for a technoscrying by Zenata in order to investigate the fate of Failed Scalecommander Abereth.[1]
