Rockard = Fallow Sanctuary?--SWM2448 20:36, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, if you look at the old map thingie, Rockard is southwest of Stonard. Unless Stonard Cartographers got it wrong, Fallow Sanctuary couldn't be Rockard.TherasTaneel (talk) 00:09, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
What's strage is that in the minimap (in-game) the towns are shown different from the artwork... With Rockard being northwest of Stonard (or maybe the minimap is inverted and the north is south). Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 00:21, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I read that maps from around the 1650's of my country wern't released to printing before the 1950' of fear that enemies could use them. Perhaps this is somewhat similar.TherasTaneel (talk) 12:02, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Source of quote

Is there a source for the quote from Swamp of Sorrows at WoW.Allakhazam.com?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 11:35, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

The quote is all messed up. Look at this part. "Stonard still remains the lone Horde outpost north of Grom'gol." Shouldn't it be more like Grom'gol is the lone Horde outpost south of Stonard since there are many Horde outposts north of Grom'gol.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 09:52, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah that's not just a third hand source, but a badly written one. I cleaned up the article. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 00:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Merge with Dreadmaul Hold

Since both the Dreadmaul Hold and the Rockard page tells us that they are one the same place with different names, shouldn't we merge the articles. After all we could use the name the name Rockard and make a mention on how the Ogres took control of it and renamed Dreadmaul Hold until the Horde claimed the outpost back. --Sairez (talk) 01:11, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

It would probably be for the best to leave the Dreadmaul Hold page in for historical references, or in the least, keep them separated until the change is made official when Cataclysm launches.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 02:34, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Where has it been said that this is now called Rockard? I'm there as we speak (in beta, ofc) and it's still called Dreadmaul Hold. --g0urra[T҂C] 13:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Subzone-wise it's still called Dreadmaul Hold, but if you speak to the new Horde leader there, she does confirm it was Rockard... whether Bliz decides to rename the subzone is up to them... I say no to the merge. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:36, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Name origin

So, I presumed the hold was named after Okrilla, an Horde member. But this happened when the Iron Horde took control of it? Thoughts? --Ryon21 (talk) 10:58, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Several green-skinned orcs were members of the Ironmarch during the Warlords of Draenor beta. It is likely that they were members of the True Horde that joined with the Iron Horde when they began their invasion, or they could have been a part of Okril'lon Hold and switched sides during the attack. Since one of them is still wearing what looks like a Kor'kron or Warsong clan tabard, the probability of him being an Azerothian Garrosh loyalist is very likely. Xporc (talk) 11:04, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Though it's never really explicitly stated anywhere, my assumption is that lorewise it was renamed Okril'lon Hold when Okrilla took Dreadmaul Hold from the ogres in Cataclysm questing, even if that name didn't show up in-game until it was taken by the Iron Horde in the Warlords of Draenor pre-quests. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 11:09, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
That's a possibility as well, aye. But there are Okril'lon orcs who were originally meant to join the Iron Horde Xporc (talk) 11:12, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
H [10-40] Attack of the Iron Horde, Thrall already refers to it as Okril'lon Hold, possibly hinting that it was renamed prior to the Ironmarch invasion. --Mordecay (talk) 11:13, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
So one of two possibilities. Either it was named before the invasion. Or it was named as part of the beta when Okrilla betrayed the Horde and possibly sized the hold for herself. Since the later was scraped, maybe lore-wise the first is what happened. Added a speculation section. --Ryon21 (talk) 11:24, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
You're mixing lore speculation with game speculation by talking about the WoD beta. We know the WoD pre-event is when the name was actually changed in-game; mixing the two makes it confusing which you're actually talking about. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:14, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
