-It's not still buried in the demon's chest. The Pit Lord blew up entirely, leaving only his armour behind. That armor hangs near Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. How it got into the hands of an Eredar is still unknown.

There is a possibility that Gorehowl was obtained through interdimensional means,as Malchazzar does say he's the "Mater of all dimensions, all realities." It's very possible he warped through space and did indeed steal Gorehowl either from Grom's grave or sometime sooner. -United_Light January 2008

I'm curious about this, too. After watching the cinematic over and over, it does appear that Gorehowl was buried in Mannoroth's chest at the time of explosion. Then we never see it again afterwards. Perhaps it was tossed into the Nether after Mannoroth died? My other question is ... how did Mannoroth's glaives end up so far from ground zero? As the cinematic shows it, the split glaives in Demonfall should be hanging over the monument. Is this explained somewhere? Tharion 06:00, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

i think that after grom's and mannaroth's death prince malchezar found the axe in demon fall canyon beacuse the legion was invading kalimdor by that time so it's possible that malchezar was in the invasion with the rest of the legion.

you know honestly with all the care Thrall took to keep Doomhammer safe once Orgim died you would think he would at least keep Gorehowl or at least make sure a demon doesn't get it i mean really

The Return of Gorehowl?

The new Garrosh action figure holds in his hand an axe that seems to resemble Gorehowl. Also, he may have been given a new model (which I will not post here, due to the NDA and fact that it might be a fake) that matches the action figure, which you can seehere. If someone could edit it into the page as speculation (A retcon of Thrall picking it up and giving it to Garrosh when the later was given the mantle of Warcheif - similar to the Ashbringer retcon) I'd be greatful, I'm no good with footnotes. Malchezaar

Given that Thrall take the weapon back to Orgrimmar after Grom's death and later offers it to Garrosh, what should we do (lorewise) with the fact that we could find it in Malchezaar's bag?

It is possible that it is an alternate dimension/ timeline version of the legendary (not as in like epic, common, etc.) axe of Grom Hellscream and in that timeline it was sucked into the nether and popped out into Azeroth, but an alternate one. Which would be the universe of WOW we know. Another possiblility is it is a "timeline warped" copy if you will, meaning it was created by a warp in the timeline from within Karazhan, meaning it should not really exist, and that Thrall had the real one the whole time. However, this is just speculation, but it is possible considering what THAT tower is like, warping reality and all.However, this is just speculation. Bigbucks (talk) 03:58, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Non-Canon?

I see in the History section that mention is made of the events in the short story for Baine Bloodhoof. I find this confusing, as I thought that the short stories (which were done for a contest) are considered non-canon. Right or wrong? Alayea (talk) 21:35, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

In MoP

I noticed that Garrosh´s weapon now has a violet object in the middle of his weapon. (Saw a video of the final quest where Anduin is destroying the Divine Bell) So upgraded Gorehowl, or another weapon? --Mordecay (talk) 20:53, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Split?

Elaynea

During the assault on the Dark Portal we see Elaynea Welton the Wind and Sea wielding Gorehowl. Would this explain how Garrosh later has it on Draenor when he fights Thrall? Cannibeans (talk) 21:22, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Friend of mine brought up that the Gorehowl Garry had during the Nagrand finale could have been the AU one. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Grom has it the next time we see him. Cannibeans (talk) 01:33, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
