- Pyrite Deposits are uncommon to rare spawns where Elementium Deposits spawn in Uldum and Twilight Highlands.
- Rich Pyrite Deposits are found on both Tol Barad and Tol Barad Peninsula.

- Iron Pyrite is known as Fool's Gold in the real world.
- Pyrite comes from the Greek word πυρίτης (puritēs) meaning 'of fire'.
