Oglethorpe Obnoticus is an artisan gnomish engineering trainer located in Booty Bay in the Cape of Stranglethorn. He teaches engineers Gnome Engineering.
He is the creator of the OOX series of mechanical chickens.
History
Oglethorpe makes a point of telling adventurers who speak to him that if they represent Gnomeregan, he has nothing to say to them and that they should leave. The reason for this hostility is revealed to Horde adventurers who visit him to learn Gnome Engineering. According to Oglethorpe, he was ostracized by the rulers of Gnomeregan because they considered him an "intellectual threat." Indignant, he left Gnomeregan for good, which likely led to his residence in Booty Bay. Oglethorpe tells the player that because of the way the ruling faction of Gnomeregan treated him, it lost one of the greatest gnome engineers alive. He particularly does not like Tinkmaster Overspark.
What really happened was that, after Oglethorpe created an unbeatable robot for a friendly competition of inventors, Sicco Thermaplugg stole his blueprints and created the Crowd Pummeler 9-60. Thermaplugg set it loose in Gnomeregan, and the ruling council of the Gnomes banished Oglethorpe, believing him to be responsible.[2]
While in Booty Bay, he assisted adventurers in restoring a chicken, turning it into a mechanical one.[1]
During the Fourth War, Oglethorpe appeared in Rustbolt on Mechagon Island. Seeking to prove that his inventions are better than Overspark's, he released countless mechanical chickens across this island to analyze the technology on the island, adopt it, and evolve their own circuitry. He hoped one of them would become his ultimate battle chicken. His plans were disrupted when the local troggs started bashing and stealing the chicken to eat them, so he sent adventurers to collect mechanical parts and repair OOX-Bomber/MG.[3]
Oglethorpe participated in the Bronze Celebration outside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. He was seen talking with Jepetto Joybuzz and Moira Thaurissan about his mechanical chicken inventions.

- His name is a reference to the cartoon Aqua Teen Hunger Force. One of its characters is an alien named Oglethorpe, who consults a disco ball named Obnoticus for guidance.
- Even if the player is unfriendly with Booty Bay, Oglethorpe will still give them the daily quest in Rustbolt.
