Ikronia was the sister of Iridikron, the greatest of the Primal Incarnates and leader of the Primalists. Born a proto-dragon before the Dragon Aspects and dragonflights existed, she was never particularly close to her brother, who had a stronger bond with his rival Neltharion than with her.

Always small and weak, Ikronia had accepted the Aspects' offer to all proto-dragons to be ordered and become a member of the black dragonflight so she could have a place to belong. Yet even though on the Dragon Isles she was surrounded by dragons, she found herself isolated nevertheless and came to regret her decision. Ikronia fled the Dragon Isles and ventured to her brother's home Harrowsdeep for aid, where he and Raszageth found her. Iridikron did not pity Ikronia but saw a use for her, and tasked her with burning down mortal villages so that mortals would come to fear ordered dragons and flock to his army to fight them.[1]

Ikronia and Raszageth worked together to do this for many decades, with Raszageth also physically abusing and scarring Ikronia after each mission. Eventually during an attack on a tarasek village on the Forbidden Reach, Ikronia was spotted and captured by black dragon patrols. Having finally found the dragon who had been attacking mortals and ruining their reputation, Neltharion himself interrogated Ikronia about what she knew of Iridikron's plans and then had her imprisoned in a cavern beneath the Forbidden Reach as punishment for her betrayal of his flight. When Raszageth attacked the Reach, Ikronia used the chaos to escape, and in the midst of the battle saw how Neltharion used the Oathbinder to control his dracthyr soldiers. She warned Raszageth, but Raszageth saw no further use for her and killed Ikronia with a bolt of lightning.[2]
