Midsummer Fire Festival
The subject of this article or section is part of Midsummer Fire Festival, a seasonal event that lasts two weeks, after which it is no longer available until the next year.

The Ice Stone is a fixed device located in Ashenvale, Desolace, Stranglethorn Vale, Searing Gorge, Silithus, Hellfire Peninsula, and Slave Pens, during the Midsummer Fire Festival. These ice stones radiate a bitter cold, chilling the air around it and the platform on which it sits. Deep within its facets, a blue light pulses, waiting (to be melted!)

Notes

  • During a brief period during the Love is in the Air event in patch 3.0.9, a bug caused players to continually receive the global message "The Ice Stone has melted!". Specifically, whenever a player turned in a Love is in the Air gift to the quest giver in Stormwind City, it also mistakenly triggered the same event as the Ice Stone in the Slave Pens, but since the player was in the open world and not inside a dungeon, the emote was displayed to every player on the continent.[1] The bug was hotfixed during a round of off-peak rolling restarts.[2]
