Grungir Ironspout is a dwarf who came with the Dragonscale Expedition to Shiverweb Vale in the Azure Span but were ambushed by the Primalists and ice spiders. He fought his way free, but once he saw how his fellow explorers made it out, he turned around and went back alone but was captured in a block of ice by the Primalists. His expedition counterpart, Lilial Dawnburst asked adventurers to locate him.[1] When they found him, he had the adventurer recover his family brew that was keeping him alive from the spiders[2] as well as kill frostcallers Julh'ek, Nai'jin, and Sin'tia to disrupt the Primalists' mission in the area of infusing the spiders.[3] He used the runes recovered from the frostcallers to assemble a 
[Spider Squasher] and sent the adventurer to kill the Shiverweb Queen. Once she was dead, Grungir went back to the Dragonscale camp and reunited with Lilial and told him about his bravery.[4] Lilial, in turn, considers him impulsive.[1]
