General is used in the names and ranks of different races.
The various grades of general officer are usually at the top of the rank structure. One exception is Marcus Auralion which is "High General".
In World of Warcraft [General] is a Horde-exclusive Legacy achievement. It means the character achieved the <General> title before the release of Patch 2.0.1, after which the availability to acquire military titles was removed from the game.
