The Sin'dorei, Thalassian for Children of Blood, are the last remnants of the High Elves who were devastated by humanity's great Crusade decades ago. The survivors were renamed to Blood Elves by Kael'thas, who chose the name both to remember those they had lost and in reference to their noble bloodline. The loss of their revered Sunwell left the blood elves with a deep mana addiciton that, combined with the sheer tradgey they survived, has led them down a darker path of arcane vampirism and fel abuse. Having some to Draenor to find a new home away from the crumlbing Outland the blood elves have built a new home, Sin'Thas the Woods of Blood, where they remained hidden until recent events, such as the re-opening of the Dark Portal, led to them revealing themselves to the other Draenor races.

Character Classes

The Sin'dorei have long defended their borders and although most of their swordsmasters and spearmen were slain by the Crusade a new generation of Warriors have risen since to defend Sin'Thas and the survivors of their people. Their rangers have patrolled their woods for generations and were organised as the Farstriders, with the modern Hunters continuing these traditions of archery and animal taming, following ancient traditions of the elves. While elves have always employed assassins and the ilk they've become more reliant on Rogues since the genocide of their people to deal with threats before they can truly threaten their withered people, usually falling under the umbrella of the Farstriders though a criminal element has grown among the survivors.

The relationship between the elves and the Light has become incredibly complicated. Though once worship of the Light was prelevent among their people the Human Crusade and their zealous belief in the Light has greatly tarnished the elves' faith in such religion. Some Priests remain among their people providing healing and comfort to their kin despite the devastation their people have endured however many whisper behind the priests' backs as being practicners of a false faith, that the Light was not worthy of worship. This belief has led to the rise of the Blood Knights, a new order of Paladins founded by former priests that have lost their faith who seek to control and master the Light instead of worshipping it, and they are seen as champions of the surviving people as the new backbone of the elves' way of life. They see worship as folly and their mere existence has caused a rift between them and the draenei.

Since the kingdom's inception the High Elves always practiced the arcane arts and the Blood Elves carry on this tradition, their Mages are a highly respected class among their society and vital to the building of many magical devices and enchantments that allow the elves their way of life. Yet since the devastation of their people many elves have taken up the paths of less traditional magics such as demons and destruction, with Warlocks being embraced in this new elven society with ease. Unlike other socieities warlocks can be seen openly practicing their arts, the fel scarring left plain on the blood elves due to proximity to the Burning Crystals maintained by warlocks and magi. Both classes fall under the leadership of the Magisters.

Elves have always valued professions relating to magic, especially Enchanting as it would be hard to find any corner of blood elven society not using some form of enchantment from magical brooms that clean on their own to arcane defences designed to keep out the dangers of their new home. However the appearance of blood elves has also spread the art of Inscription to Dreanor, spreading this profession to other races and cities and their own vaults are full of scrolls of various magics. Herbalism is needed for both professions and the blood elves maintain gardens in addition to sending out adventurers to gather other herbs, with some even joking that all of their warriors are herbalists now due to fighting the Primals.

Sub-Groups and Organisations

Much of their civilisation was wiped out but few aspects were maintained and brought to Draenor during the exodus, rebuilding a fragment of their old way of life. The relation between these groups, however, has become tempermental at times. The newly risen Blood Knights view themselves as the true defenders of blood elfkind and demand respect from the other groups, while viewing the Magisters as a civilian class that should stay behind their walls, and they view the Farstriders as a failure due to the fact humanity nearly wiped out their people. The Magisters think of the Blood Knights as their creation despite their automanty due to the Magisters engineering the means of allowing them to use the Light and they see Farstriders as backwater, dirtmongers who live in filth. The Farstriders don't think highly of the new Blood Knights seeing them as crude and arrogant who think of themselves as saviors while enslaving the Light while also seeing the Magisters as arrogant people who mess with politics and the every day life for the average civilian.

Magisters

Keeping control over the various magical groups of the Blood elves and deeply tied to the political structure of Sin'Thas, the Magisters are comprised of mages, warlocks, enchanters and other magical classes. The group is led by Grand Magister Rommath who took the leadership role from his mentor Belo'vir who died when the Crusade invaded Quel'Thalas. They also maintain an order of Spellbreakers to help enforce their rules on the magi groups to ensure compliance and to protect them from outside influences such as demons.

Blood Knights

The genocide of their people has left them in a crisis of faith as many saw the Crusade's utter faith in the Light and the perceived failure of the Light to protect them as proof the Light was not worthy of worshiping. This has led to a new class of paladins rising, the Blood Knights who view themselves as the masters of the Light and not its supplicants, viewing those who worship the Light as weak willed. They are led by Lady Liadrin, the Blood Matriarch, who is a former priestess and student of the preivous High Priest, Vandellor, before she lost her faith in the Light.

Farstriders

Once revered as the defenders of their kind, they had patrolled the woods of Quel'Thalas for generations protecting their home from any threat. That was until the Crusade came, utterly devastating the Farstriders who threw everything they had against the humans. The order has reformed in Sin'Thas, once led by Sylvanas before she became the Regent and named Lor'themar Theron the Ranger-General, and they map the new woods they call their refuge and home and hope to reclaim their lost glory and respect.

Settlements

Hidden among the woods of Farahlon is Sin'Thas, the elves' new home.

Since arriving on Draenor after the Shattering the elves set about both building a new home and keeping their presence a secret. Having used Runestones to hide their presence from the Crusade on Azeroth they set about establishing a new border to keep their refuge a secret under a great illusion. Sin'Thas is the name for both the city itself and the forest, being somewhat interchangable as the elves did not spread outside of their hidden forest. Within the city of Sin'Thas are several districts, such as the Sunfury Court where the regency resides alongside the advisors and royal guard, awaiting for the return of their King. The Bloodhawk Bazaar is where the various merchants and traders keep too including banks and auction houses in addition is a Farstrider Enclave where hunter, warrior and rogue trainers work. The Dawnblade Square is a district where you can access Grand Sanctum, keeping various profession trainers in magic arts like enchanting, inscription and alchemy, while also housing Mages and Warlocks, while off to the side is the Hall of Blood where the Blood Knights have established themselves.

The arrival of the blood elves has tainted parts of the region, corrupting it.

Outside of Sin'Thas proper are various small settlements and holdings, such as Sunstrider's Landing where the elves first arrived to Draenor through the Phoenix Gate that is now defunct, and it also acts as a training ground for new would be adventurers. The Farstrider Advance sits at the primary entrance in and out of Sin'Thas, constantly dealing with Primal incursions and now also acts as the entrance to the rest of Farahlon for some adventurers arriving on the landmass. On the southern coast is Dawnsail Anchorage that is where most of the blood elven ships operate from. Eversong Village is a township located near the gates to the city itself. They maintain some settlements in Outland itself, most notably the Monastery of Blood that acts as Kael's base of operations and is home to many Wretched and blood elves. Falcon's Watch is a base in the Blasted Lands and they also maintain a holding in Netherstorm, the broken remnants of Quel'Thalas, called Alah'Serrar.
