The Hand of Jarius, (officially the Eighth Field Army of Silvermoon), is a army force that was founded and lead by Jarius Goldblood. Originally formed by Jarius to eliminate any remaining Scourge from Quel'Thalas, they are currently conducting military operations against the Eye of Azeroth and their allies. Though part of the Blood Elf Army, Jarius has full control over the Hand of Jarius's operations and does not receive any sort of aid from Quel'Thalas, paying for any equipment and supplies out of pocket and recruiting new members personally.

History

Pandaria

After learning that the Eye of Azeroth began researching Sha energy in Pandaria, Jarius sent a small scouting force lead by Mius Suncore to locate and investigate them.

Recruitment

Initially, Jarius would let anyone interested in joining the Hand of Jarius into its ranks. However, after Lynna Lightkiss and Remar Sunfire's betrayal, Jarius decided to change the way he recruited in order to prevent infiltrators from joining and then stealing away members of the Hand of Jarius.

First, each potential candidate would undergo a background check, checking for bounties, previous affiliations, previous crimes, and who they associate with. Candidates that pass the background check are then either sent to battle or pitted against current members of the Hand of Jarius if they are not currently deployed. This is done in order to test their combat skills. Candidates whose combat skills are deemed to be sufficient are formally offered a position in the Hand of Jarius.

Corps.

The soldiers of the Hand of Jarius are separated into five Corps. based on the type of missions that they undertake. Overall, the Hand of Jarius consists of between 100,000-200,000 soldiers, at least half of which are on active duty at all times.

Artillery Corps.

The Artillery Corps. are in charge of the siege weapons that the Hand of Jarius have at their disposal, including ballistae, catapults, and fel cannons. The Artillery Corps. is made up of Mages, Warlocks, Warriors, and Hunters. Ovaris Draco is the leader of the Artillery Corps., which also includes Alistair Draco and Pesche Sunhammer among its members.

Death's Hand

Formed before the Hand of Jarius's expedition to Northrend, Death's Hand is made up of Death Knights who use to serve the Scourge. Along with Jarius's Shield, Death's Hand is one of two combat Corps. within the Hand of Jarius. Death's Hand is lead by former Jarius's Shield leader and Emissary to the Knights of the Ebon Blade Pablo Darksun, who was resurrected as a Death Knight by the Scourge but broke free of the Lich King's control during the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel.

Jarius's Shield

Jarius's Shield are Jarius's personal bodyguards and serve as shock troops of the Hand of Jarius. They were once the House of Goldblood's Honor Guard until Jarius founded the Hand of Jarius. Most of the members are Spell Breakers although there are also a few Blood Knights, Warriors, and Mages as well. Along with Death's Hand, Jarius's Shield is one of two combat Corps. within the Hand of Jarius. Jarius's Shield is currently led by Miles Dawnblade, having previously been led by Remar Sunfire until his betrayal and defection from the Hand of Jarius along with Lynna Lightkiss, Pablo Darksun until his death outside the gates of Stratholme, and Alistair Draco until his demotion after he attempted to send Miles Dawnblade on a suicide mission to the Cathedral of Darkness. Mius Suncore is also member.

Medical Corps.

Once the House of Goldblood's personal physicians until Jarius founded the Hand of Jarius, the Medical Corps. serve as doctors and nurses for the Hand of Jarius. The Medical Corps. are made up of Priests and Blood Knights. Led by Lynna Lightkiss until her betrayal and defection from the Hand of Jarius along with Remar Sunfire, the Medical Corps. is currently leaderless.

Scouting Corps.

Established during the war to drive the Scourge out of Quel'Thalas, the Scouting Corps. serve as scouts for the Hand of Jarius. They also carry out assassinations. The Scouting Corps. are made up of Rogues and Hunters. Grandard Darksun is the leader of the Scouting Corp., which also includes Viridiel Swiftblood among its members.
