Undersea

The Undersea is a vast underground body of water comprising the northwestern expanse of Hallowfall, located directly beneath Beledar. From north to south, the sea is the western border of Bleak Sand, Faded Shore, Velhan's Claim, Priory of the Sacred Flame, Fortune's Fall, and Morgaen's Tears. From points north and west, the sea drains through unnamed rivers into the Hungering Pool at the center of the zone.
Some among the Hallowfall Arathi refer to it as "the dark ocean" and believe that it could lead back to the sea, sending messages in bottles across the waves with the hope they will reach the shores of their homeland.[1]
It is home to many dangers, most notably the kobyss, an amphibious race of necromancers descended from the ankoan.
Trivia
- From Hallowfall, the Undersea appears endless to players. This is intentional from a story standpoint, as the designers wanted to "hint at things you [players] might want to think about".[2]
Speculation
This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.
|
- The Undersea seems to be located directly beneath the large circular bay on the western coast of the Isle of Dorn, suggesting that both may have been formed by the meteoric impact of Beledar on the island's surface.
Patch changes
- Patch 11.0.2 (2024-08-13): Added.
