Trader's Tender is an account-wide currency used at the Trading Posts of Stormwind and Orgrimmar to trade for rare cosmetic goods.

Sources

500 are earned automatically each month just by interacting with the Collector's Cache at the Trading Post
A total of 500 more earned each month from completing activities in the Traveler's Log
500 from [1-80] Tour the Trading Post (one-time only)
Up to 1,000 for purchasing The War Within (one-time only)

- An additional 250 from The War Within Heroic Edition (total of 750)

Trader's tender will continue to accrue as long as there is a running subscription on the account. Interacting with the cache will grant all of the backlogged currency, 500 per month.
