The Power of Temptation concludes the quest chain to acquire  [Fyr'alath the Dreamrender]. To have reached this point, players must have looted the shadowflame version of  [Fyr'alath the Dreamrender] from Fyrakk the Blazing in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope and acquired the necessary items to temper the shadowflame that had consumed the player after their first attempt at equipping the axe.

Objectives

Talk to Wrathion to travel to Aberrus, and complete the scenario "A Hero's Resolve."

Description

Just to be clear: if the axe defeats you, I will be obligated to step in.

But that's not going to happen, is it? You're not going to be corrupted by the shadowflame. You won't devolve into a monstrous, murderous shadow of your former self. I'm not going to have to... intervene.

As long as we're clear on this, no one is going to have to kill anyone. All right, let's get this done.

This loads players into the "A Hero's Resolve" scenario in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible:

Stage 1: Equip Fyr'alath

• Fyr'alath equipped in the center of the arena

Inside, Wrathion has new gossip, along with an escape:

Focus upon Fyr'alath in the chamber's center. Only then will your challenge begin.

Step to the center of the arena and use the extra action button to "equip" Fyr'alath, spawning an Echo of Fyrakk!

Stage 2: Defeat Foes to Gain Discipline

• 100% Discipline Achieved

The echo goes immune, but numerous Shadowflame Elementals stream in from the edge of the arena, headed toward the echo. Defeat them, alongside the Tempting Shadows, who spawn in with a boss emote:

A tempting shadow is focusing their shadowflame!

Do not let them finish their 15-second Focusing Shadow casts, which can be interrupted. Small elementals are worth 1% progress, and big elementals are worth 15%. The phase advances once the bar hits 100%.

Stage 3: Defeat the Echo of Fyrakk

• Echo of Fyrakk defeated

The phase starts with a boss emote:

Use the Rage of Fyr'alath to shatter Fyrakk's shield!

Head to the echo and use the new extra action button on the Echo, knocking off 15% of its health, and one-shotting the remaining elementals in the arena. Do as much damage as possible as the discipline bar empties. Once it hits zero, he will go immune and the adds from the previous phase start spawning. The echo will also spawn various area-denial attacks.

Rinse and repeat once the bar hits 100% until the echo dies.

Final Stage: Talk to Wrathion

As the echo falls, an in-engine cutscene immediately plays:

The player walks to the center of the arena then holds up the axe in their right hand.

Wrathion: That was most impressive. Come over here and let me take a look at the axe.

Setting it alight, the dragon head statues surrounding the arena start breathing shadowflame as small orbs of flame track toward the center. They all infuse the axe with power and the player stands triumphant.

After the cutscene, speak with Wrathion:

Well done. I must admit, I doubt I could have done that myself.
