Champion of the Banshee Queen.

Objectives

Confront Nathanos Blightcaller at Marris Stead in Eastern Plaguelands.

Description

<The messenger appears visibly shaken.>

Word has reached us of... well, I'm not quite sure how to put it...

The Blightcaller has been found.

Horde forces have been scouring Azeroth for any sign of him. Determined to make him answer for his crimes.

One of our Argent patrols has found him. Not hiding in some distant land. Just... waiting at his old homestead.

We have him surrounded, but, uh, I confess I don't like our odds.

Perhaps you could gather your allies and bring him to justice.

Rewards

You will receive:

Progress

What news do you bring of the Blightcaller?

Completion

<A wry smile crosses the Regent Lord's face.>

A fitting end to the Blightcaller. I only wish I had been there to see it.

Notes

This is a breadcrumb to the N [50EEWQ] Nathanos Blightcaller world quest in the Eastern Plaguelands.

A cinematic plays when Nathanos reaches 10% health, "For Teldrassil":

Nathanos laughs as he fires several arrows at his foes, his Darkhounds leaping into the fray.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Come on! Is this the best you can do?

A change in the air makes Nathanos stop. Looking to the sky, the sun is suddenly eclipsed. A familiar white owl is circling overhead. Nathanos lowers his gaze as a thick fog falls upon the Marris Stead. An arrow flies through the fog and slams into Nathanos' shoulder, sending him flying back and pinning him against the wall of his home. Nathanos hisses in pain, then chuckles darkly. He spots Tyrande Whisperwind walking through the fog, her twin blades at the ready.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Ah, now... Now it's getting interesting.

Nathanos snaps off the end of the arrow pinning him to his house, then pulls himself forward with a grunt. As he staggers, Plaguefang and Blight-Howl charge from the fog behind Tyrande. With no apparent effort, Tyrande vaporizes them both with a blast of Moonfire. As she gets close, Nathanos narrows his eyes, reaches down and picks up his twin handaxes. After a moment of locked gazes, Nathanos charges. Despite his skill, Tyrande blocks his attacks easily, and quickly overwhelms him before delivering a vicious slice across his midsection. Nathanos falls to his knees, but Tyrande holds her blade against his throat. Dori'thur flies over and lands on a nearby fencepost. Nathanos gasps, but still finds the energy to chuckle.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Your power... has grown.

Tyrande presses the blade further against his throat.

Tyrande Whisperwind: Where is she?

Nathanos Blightcaller: With him, of course. In the darkest place. Along with every soul burnt to ash in your precious tree--

Tyrande pushes her blade into his neck again, enunciating every word with a growl.

Tyrande Whisperwind: Where is she?

Nathanos Blightcaller: Go on. Kill me. You'll send me right to my lady. Beyond the veil she shattered. Oh, Tyrande! High Priestess. Night Warrior. Completely powerless to stop the com--

With a scowl, looking away from Nathanos, Tyrande thrusts the blade. Nathanos gives a single gasp before going limp and slumping to the ground. Dori'thur gazes at the display for a few moments before taking flight. Tyrande gives the corpse of Nathanos Blightcaller one last, bitter look before walking into the fog.

Tyrande Whisperwind: For Teldrassil.

On complete:

Lor'themar Theron says: In life, Nathanos Marris was a braggart and a bully. In death, his worst traits were only magnified.
Lor'themar Theron says: At long last, the Blightcaller has met the justice he deserved. I only regret I was not there to see it done.
Lor'themar Theron says: I cannot begrudge Tyrande Whisperwind for claiming the killing blow. I only hope the Night Warrior's rage remains fixed upon Sylvanas.
Calia Menethil says: I do not wish to speak out of turn, Regent Lord, but I have given counsel to the kaldorei who were raised into undeath after the battle for Darkshore.
Calia Menethil says: I believe I have helped them find a path forward. Perhaps if I spoke of them to the High Priestess, it might help ease her spirit, if only a little.
Lor'themar Theron says: Lilian Voss has told us of your efforts, Lady Menethil. Let us hope fate offers us a chance to see your kind offer bear fruit.
