Dori'thur is the large, snowy spirit owl companion of Tyrande Whisperwind.[2]
Background
Cataclysm
Before the destruction of Teldrassil, Dori'thur could be found flying in the Temple of the Moon of Darnassus. Dori'thur would aid Tyrande when she was attacked by the Horde, presumably to supplement the passive presence of Malfurion Stormrage, who would not aid in the attack.
Battle for Azeroth
Tyrande sent Dori'thur to seek out an Alliance adventurer and call them to Stormwind to attend a meeting between the night elf leadership and Anduin Wrynn.[3]
Dori'thur accompanied Shandris Feathermoon, Sira Moonwarden, and Maiev Shadowsong in the search for Tyrande, and was used to reveal hidden Forsaken rogues at the location of Tyrande's crashed ship.[4] Dori'thur then joined Night Warrior Tyrande and Malfurion into Darkshore to battle the Horde.
Dori'thur was still with Tyrande when she killed Nathanos Blightcaller at Marris Stead.[5]
Shadowlands
During the trial of Sylvanas Windrunner, Tyrande decided that Sylvanas would begin atoning for her crimes by finding all of the souls trapped in the Maw and sending them to the Arbiter, and that Dori'thur would watch over her during this process. Tyrande told the owl to "Watch her well", after which the owl and the banshee dived into the Maw.[6] Dori'thur briefly returned to Oribos to reveal that Anduin, who had decided to aid Sylvanas in her penance, was discussing with Sylvanas his doubts and ultimately parted with her.[7]
Dragonflight
Dori'thur briefly arrived in Orgrimmar and the Ruins of Lordaeron carrying a message for Banshee loyalists from Sylvanas Windrunner, in which she declared that the Desolate Council were the Forsaken's rightful leaders and future.[8]

Notes
- During [60] No Survivors, Dori'thur acts as a Sentinel owl.
- In most of Dori'thur's in-game appearances, she uses a spirit beast owl model, whereas in the Terror of Darkshore cinematic, she appears as a white horned owl. [60] Penance and Renewal is the first time she appears as a horned owl outside of a cinematic.
- During the patch 8.1 PTR, she used the horned model even outside of the cinematic, but when the patch launched she was reverted to the spirit owl model.
