Phael the Afflictor
Tasked with breaking down the most powerful souls in the Tremaculum to serve the Jailer.

Objectives

Collect the Afflictor's Key from Phael the Afflictor in the Tremaculum and unlock the Mawforged Shackles.

Description

Sylvanas thinks us broken. She believes she has already won.

We will show her how mistaken she is.

First, I will need your help. The bonds that hold me are impossibly strong. We will need the key to free me of them.

My... imprisonment here has been overseen by a creature they call the Afflictor. The key is likely in its possession.

Notes

Pick up both quests, then use the teleport rune to head back down to ground level.

Kill Tremaculum Sentinels, Tremaculum Wardens, and Mawsworn Willbreakers until they drop a  [Mawsworn Key], and use the key to open a Mawsteel Cage.

When using keys, Thrall and Jaina can say:

• Thrall says: Find the cave on the other side of the chasm! Our allies will protect you there!
• Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Ebon Blade forces are positioned nearby. They will defend you!
• Thrall says: Your bonds are broken! Hurry, before the guards return!

Each cage will consume a key, and holds two to three Shackled Souls.

Down on the ground level, run up the stairs to find Phael the Afflictor:

Phael the Afflictor yells: You will be broken!

Defeat him and loot the  [Afflictor's Key]:

Phael the Afflictor says: All... will serve... the Jailer...

After acquiring the Afflictor's Key and freeing 15 souls, take the teleporter back up to the upper level. Open the two Mawforged Locks holding Anduin to free him. Open both:

Anduin Wrynn says: Thank you, <name>. I feared I would never be free of those shackles.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: We should move quickly. Are you fit to travel?

Anduin Wrynn says: I will be fine once this place is behind us. Lead on.

Anduin has unique gossip text on this quest:
