“You've come to the right place! No place better than Terrordale, yes siree, that's right! The jewel of Lordaeron!”

Augustus the Touched[1]
Terrordale during Classic.

Terrordale is a small town nestled in the northwest corner of Eastern Plaguelands. Because it lies on the edge of the Plaguewood, the area is a ghost town, inhabited only by Scourge and plagued animals. Just east of Terrordale lies the Argent Crusade-controlled Plaguewood Tower, and just north lies an entrance to the crypt fiend-infested Terrorweb Tunnel, which leads to the banks of the Thondroril River.

It was previously haunted by Terrordale Spirits, with green auras permeating the ground as the physical world buckled under the torment of the spirit realm. Paladins of the Silver Hand eventually exorcised the tormenting spirits out of the area.

Speculation

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Just as the town of Darkshire was once called Grand Hamlet, Terrordale likely had a much less morbid name before the invasion of the Scourge. Based on its location in the Plaguelands, and the presence of Northdale, which is to the north, another possible name is Eastdale or Westdale. It could also be the RPG location of Cinderhome.
