Template talk:Abilities
Idea
Hey i got an idea we could do, like where the name goes it could also put the name like this:
- Flame Spray — A fiery attack to enemies in front of caster
{{abilities|Flame Spray|A fiery attack to enemies in front of caster|image=inv summerfest firespirit|id=64717}} Flame Spary is the name, it will have a ¶ or another symbol that will represent it as [[Flame Spray|¶]] so that there will be a link to the wowhead and a link to the page on this wiki. So as an example all you need is {{abilities|Flame Spray|A fiery attack to enemies in front of caster|image=inv summerfest firespirit|id=64717}} and when you submit it it will make the Ability name Link to the wowhead link with the id and then with the name it could make the symbol beside the name a link to the page on this wiki. So here is an example of what i mean:
Flame Spray ¶ — A fiery attack to enemies in front of caster
This is just a idea so people could get the information from wowhead and wowpedia, also the image will be the same.. as it is now on the top one. Thanks. Suraf (talk) 22:02, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Wouldn't make much sense as Wowpedia doesn't create mob abilities, and since usually they (mobs) are the ones that use that template it would serve no point. --DoomeЯ TC 07:30, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
Resized icons to 16x16px (instead of 32px)
I have resized the boss abilities icons to 16x16 (was 32x32) because they were too big. You are free, though, to undo the change or choose a different size than 16x16 or 32x32. Hanskamp (talk) 18:57, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
Mobs
When the ability is instead used as a mob (according to the Adventure Journal for such encounter), it'll display something like: <span id="Ability:Blazing Talon Initiate">
just before it. An example of this can be seen here though I have seen it on multiple articles. — Surafbrov T / C 22:19, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Em dash
Is it possible to edit this so that when there's no text as in Brood Guardian Phyx that the em dash would not be created? --Mordecay (talk) 01:37, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, the
|min=
is no longer available but now it'll add the emdash if there is a description. — Surafbrov T / C 01:52, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
Support for Classic
Could the Abilities template be edited so that when a page contains {{Classic only}} (and the params (maybe) tbc=, wotlk=, and cataclysm=), the ability will link instead to the respective Classic page, the same way it does for Elinks? -- Mordecay (talk) 14:42, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
