Critter -> Beast

does anyone know for sure when these guys were converted from critter to beast? i'm guessing it was 5.0, because all the player comments i can find about it are from around or after that time, and 5.0 also introduced minor creatures which seem somewhat related... but i'd rather not put something in based solely on a guess. better to see if anyone who was actually playing at the time remembers :o --Eithris (talk) 18:59, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

That sounds about right to me, though I think the only way we'd ever be able to confirm for sure is to directly compare private servers running 4.3.0 and 5.0.4. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:07, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Seems right to me too. A cata database shows it as critter and a mop database shows it as a beast. --Mordecay (talk) 19:15, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

ahh, i hadn't even thought of comparing those single-expac databases! so we're definitely around the right time

actually, that gave me an idea... i could totally just compare archives of wowhead from mop times. and bam, here we go: on September 10, 2012 they were listed under Database>NPCs>Critters, and on October 16 they were under Database>NPCs>Beasts. so that means it's gotta be 5.0.5 :D --Eithris (talk) 20:12, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
