Dead

Back on the Deceased status (again).

Please tell me who can hear him, and in what comic does it happen (I do not have the comics beyond the 16th). So we can make a proper citation/reference, because for now we read "Deafeated "the old god is dead", which is a small contradiction as defeated and deceased are two separate things.

Med'an hears him whispering in one of the comics, but the comics also tell us explicitly that C'Thun is dead. I think the easiest rationale is that death for an Old God isn't quite what it is for mortals. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 22:02, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
Probably no different than the loa. Har'koa states that death is not the end for an eternal, or something like that. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 23:55, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
I would said that his body is dead-like but he is still alive in spirit type.
That why we should put him as defeated for the Lore, because he is not dead dead. C'Thun order Cho'gall to kidnapped Med'an. The reason why C'Thun want Med'an is because he need a new host and Med'an is a "beacon of power". Because Cho'gall try to resurrect C'Thun's body by using Med'an's body, and the boy was saved by Valeera Sanguinar and other people, the magic of resurrection backfire and merge Cho'gall and C'Thun as one being. C'Thun still whisper Med'an in order to fix the problem by bringing the boy alone to Ahn'Qiraj. Med'an did not fall into the trap that C'Thun try to set up.
I am trying choose the right word because C'Thun was not dead but his body was. Cho'gall was just trying to merge and remove Med'an's spirit for the Old God. So i do not think that is a resurrection spell we would think of. I do agree it is a resurrection spell of some type.
That why C'Thun should be listed as defeated because he was never killed. Darkness1d (talk · contr) 9:59, April 12, 2010 (MT)

Prophecy of C'Thun mistake

'One Old God was killed during the battle and its remains can be seen at the Master's Glaive in Darkshore with an immense sword piercing its skull. Three were weakened while C'Thun fell into the barren lands of Silithus - but did not die.'

I think this part is a mistake.

If you read the Prophecy of C'Thun, you would find this "a battle between a Titan and a being of unimaginable evil and power raged on this very soil". "This very soil" is talking about Silithus since the creator of the prophecy, Prophet Skeram, was born and raise in Silithus. Therefore it is a battle between C'Thun and a titan. If you look at the area where C'Thun is found, there is no titan marks like Uldaman, Ulduar, and Uldum. I would said C'Thun is one of the two Old Gods listed by the titans as dead.

That battle against the Titan did weaken C'Thun to a point that he was very near death however he did cause a titan to fall. The other titans did not know he was still alive, then attack the other Old Gods. When the Titans did kill the second Old God, their "computer" tell them that killing the Old God would destroy Azeroth. The Titan change their plan and choose to imprison the last three Old God. C'Thun was never imprison and became a power-lord during the Troll Empires, before the War of the Ancients.

In the Prophecy of C'Thun, it never said anything about Master's Glaive. In fact the Master's Glaive is a site where it is believed that a titan killed one of the Old Gods or one of their minions there. We need to fix the info in couple post; Master's Glaive, C'Thun, and Old Gods. C'Thun was the weakest Old Gods of Azeroth however he did kill a titan. Mostly Dead

According to 4.1.0 and Total Biscuit, C'Thun is still alive and you see a vision of him (one of his eyes). When you click on him he says "HI!" Hallowseve15 (talk) 00:55, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

I watched his video,He didn't say C'thun is alive, what you see is Vision of C'thun, and it could happen in the past, wait for the quest to be finished becuase you make statements.IconSmall HighElf Male.gif Aesindor, The Celestial Paladin (Leave a Message) 17:35, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Origin of the Qiraji

In this article it states "In the desert into which it fell, C'Thun found primitive life-forms known as the Silithid. The Old God created avatars from the Silithid in its own image. These avatars were to be known as the Qiraji". Can we get a source on this? The origin story of the Qiraji that I am familiar with can be found in the Qiraji article - "Not long after the troll empires divided the insectoid kingdom of the aqir, the aqir split in half, one group going north and the other south; The aqir who travelled north reached the icy land that would become known as Northrend evolved a spider-like shape, founding the kingdom of Azshol-Nerub, and eventually came to be known as nerubians; the aqir that travelled south ransacked and overthrew a titan research station near Uldum and enslaved the tol'vir based there. Converting the research station into an extensive hive, they renamed themselves the qiraji and calling their new home Ahn'Qiraj." accompanied by a dead link. Does anyone have a source on the version in this article? Tusksrus (talk) 18:31, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

The basic content (phrasing adjusted several times) goes back to the original 2005 edit of the page, where it was written by User:LemonBaby:
It was through the silithid that the brooding Old God would reach and attempt to sunder the world that it once held in its unmerciful grasp. The Old God would create avatars from the Silithid in its own image. These avatars wer to be known as the Qiraji.

It is from The Prophecy of C'Thun as seen in N [60G] The Calling. World of Warcraft: The Magazine Volume II Issue I presents the origin found in  [The Twin Empires] as true.--SWM2448 21:20, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Attempted resurrection

As of Chronicles Vol.3 this isn't canon anymore. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AceAzzermeen (talk · contr).

Maybe yes, maybe not - hard to know for certain given they also said that things not mentioned in Chronicle are still canon. The part that would be the events regarding the Comic start around page 163 to 167, and while the Comic events are referenced, no mention of the resurrection itself. -Mordecay (talk) 16:06, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Just because Chronicle doesn't mention something doesn't mean it no longer happened. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:53, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
It's still canon to the comic-verse anyway, and that section is delimited by the comic-verse tag :D Xporc (talk) 23:14, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Dead 2

That they are Deceased would go against the lore they've given so far. The Titans imprisoned them for a reason as killing them would kill the host. And until Sargeras big sword impaled the planet, she was fine. The Well of Eternity was caused by ripping off Y'Shaarj so just imagine the other three. And Chronicle doesn't say that the adventurers killed them no? If they can come back is because, in a way, they are "outside the cycle of life and death" or whatever. This is similar to the Wrathgate, until an official confirmation, we should leave it as it was. --Ryon21 (talk) 19:15, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

The Titans imprisoned them because THEY couldn't kill them without killing the host (as you said, Aman'thul physically ripping out Y'Shaarj nearly killed it), not that their deaths were inherently fatal to Azeroth. Chronicle also does, indeed, say they were killed, and pretty emphatically so. That they could one day be restored to life doesn't change the fact that they are currently deceased. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:38, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
Alex says dead, not defeated. C'Thun in particular has a few sources stating he's outright dead. Deceased is the correct terminology, because that's the terminology used by Blizzard more than once now. They are dead. -Cannibeans (talk) 21:37, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
Then what a great job the Titans did if just a bunch of adventurers managed to do what they could not. But yeah, maybe they can be killed and later they somehow regenerate or something. My bad. --Ryon21 (talk) 21:45, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
We've defeated two actual titans before. I don't find it hard to believe at all, personally. Adventurers are crazy OP. -Cannibeans (talk) 21:51, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
