Safe?

Anyone who has been ganked by a rogue begs to differ. --MonJoe 21:04, 6 January 2007 (EST)

Booty Bay isn't remotely safe. Calling it "One of the safest places in the game" is just absurd. Any rogue can drop you dead, and a good hunter won't have any trouble sniping folks off the docks or sending his pet to attack. Kestrel 14:52, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

Are there even any female goblins in that city. theres only like 3 in the whole game!Cormundo 14:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

No mounts in Booty Bay

One thing that's interesting in Booty Bay is that, unlike other cities, you cannot mount or use druid [Travel Form] in almost the entire city. You can mount in the tunnel, and there may be the small portion of land to the left that mounting is possible, but it is not possible in the rest of the city. I haven't tested it yet with the shaman's [Ghost Wolf] form, but it's probably not possible, since Ghost Wolf applies to outdoors only just like Travel Form. --Slxception 11:40, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Indeed, the entire city is treated as indoors, with the exception of the water. Mounts don't go well with wooden constructions :) User:Kirkburn/Sig3 19:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Bah, the goblins just don't want you mounting up in BB, cause its more annoying to clean animal droppings from wood than dirt. But who knows, maybe one day it will change, like Undercity did... not anytime soon though, most likely see Azeroth updated for flying mounts first lol Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! Neutral Town

I added the "neutral town" category to Booty Bay so it shows up on the neutral town page. It's a pretty key neutral area to both the Horde and Alliance, as it's a major flight point and boat dock, so made sense that it could be found that way.

New Year's Eve Gank-fest

I just logged out because the Bruisers are all asleep and the Horde is ganking anybody who shows up in Booty Bay. Apparently it's because of New Years Eve, all the Bruisers got drunk. Perhaps this is worth a mention on the main page? MaxWilder

It's noted under the special event New Years. But it could have a small note about it here as well. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:28, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Even Non-Flagged?

The way many people have discussed this place here makes it sound as though anyone can be attacked, even if they are not flagged. Is this true? If so, WHY? Dalnir (talk) 03:53, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

If you at any point attack someone (even in self-defense) you'll be attacked by the guards. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 04:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I understand that, but it doesn't answer my question. Let me rephrase. If I go to this place and I am not flagged when I arrive, can anyone attack me? Dalnir (talk) 03:34, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Doesn't matter where you go, If you are not flagged, you can not be attacked... by other players. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:47, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Lol, okay, am I dragging this out, or are you? ;) So what NPCs or other mobs in the city will attack me just for being there, and if they do, can I defend myself without getting flagged? Dalnir (talk) 05:12, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
There are no hostile npcs in Booty Bay, guards will not randomly attack you, players can't attack you if you are not flagged... If you attack a player (even if defending yourself), you will become flagged and be attacked by the guards... Is that clearer? User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 12:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes it is clearer, though you still put phrases in that make me wonder, just like when you said "If you are not flagged, you can not be attacked... by other players." The way you separated "by other players" from the rest of the statement led me to believe that there must be something there that would attack me. Now when you say "If you attack a player (even if defending yourself)" this makes me wonder how it is possible that to attack a player while defending myself would flag my character. How could I be defending myself against an attack by another player if I was not already flagged? I believe though, from what you have said so far, that as long as I do not attack any players or NPCs, I will not be flagged, and therefore I will be safe from attack in town. If this is correct, then thank you for answering my questions. If I am wrong, please correct me. --Dalnir (talk) 03:45, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
If you manage to lower your rep with Booty Bay to the point where you are Hostile or Hated, the guards will attack you regardless of whether or not you're flagged. Otherwise, yes, if you do not attack any players or NPCs and you are unflagged the guards will leave you alone. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 08:24, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

... GUARDS!!! Dalnir touched me... KILL 'EM. Me thinks you just like hearing me tal... type. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 04:03, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Transportation

How? How do you get to Booty Bay without having to go through the Vale first? My flight master doesn't have it for me yet! I suppose it would be okay if I was Horde, but I have a night elf, so.... How? Deiena TI:ME, DAY MONTH YEAR (Timezone)

Either you take the ship from Ratchet, or you'll have to make the long walk from Duskwood. There's no other way (unless you'll get summoned by a Warlock). g0urra[T҂C] 11:42, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Scourage Invasion involement

Should something be mentioned about Booty Bay having those sickly crates that would infect players and whoever passed by them? Since this was a one-time event.--Mistertrouble189 (talk) 23:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Namesake

Is it possible Booty bay was designed and named after the brittish overseas territory Bounty Bay? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bounty_bay.jpg --Yata

Venture Co. in Grizzly Hills

The Venture Co. mobs in Grizzly Hills appear to give 5 rep per kill for Booty Bay. I think this should be added, but does anyone know if this rep gain stops at any point? Also, it does not seem to affect Bloodsail rep either, which is probably worth noting.Sedron (talk) 01:39, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Rep Chart

I believe the reputation grid needs to be updated, but I wanted to post before doing so. I have a 45 nelf priest who has been killing Bloodsail mobs and getting no rep increase with Booty Bay. The chart lists that rep should continue until Revered and my priest is only Honored. I got rep with my shammy, but he is only friendly with Booty Bay. I put in a ticket and got "GM's cannot give game hints of any kind." If no disagrees in a day or two, I'll update the chart to show that rep from killing Bloodsail only continues up to Honored. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Elvisdumbledore (talk · contr).

Hope it stays neutral

Highly doubt it, but could the neutral goblin towns go to the Horde (because of the goblin race)? Just something to consider -Wowman12 3:45, April 6 2010 (UTC)

Not all goblins are joining the Horde; only one specific group. The rest would prefer to make money off of both sides of the conflict. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:47, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Okay good, that would be very hectic otherwise -Wowman12 3:51, April 6 2010 (UTC)

Cataclysm Gallery

Most of the images within the gallery have the cat symbol next to them - but no changes have been made to the areas shown with the exception of the last pic. While I do think it's nice to have those images, should they be moved elsewhere in the page and the cat symbol removed, seeing as how they don't show any cat-related changes, aside from being able to take pics from the air? Just wondering :) User:FrejyaFrejya 14:37, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Somewhat amusingly, the only image that DIDN'T have the c-inline was the one that WAS from Cataclysm. I've changed the gallery accordingly. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dark T Zeratul (talk · contr).
Haha! Yeah, I noticed that. Thanks for looking at that, Dark T. User:FrejyaFrejya 04:38, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
