“Blessed are the torchbearers, who bring the light to darkness.”

 [T'uure, Beacon of the Naaru]

T'uure was a powerful naaru who sacrificed its own life energy to save the planet Karkora from the monstrous Dimensius the All-Devouring, shattering itself into fragments in the process. Even broken, T'uure's light was undiminished, and its fellow naaru were soon drawn to its remains, gathering the fragments and gifting them to various races that they believed showed potential for good.

The largest piece was passed to the eredar of Argus. It is said that the shard plummeted from the sky like a falling star. Night turned to day, and T'uure's Light painted the heavens in shades of gold for a full week. The shard, reforged into a staff, remained a cherished artifact of the draenei even many years after their flight from Argus.

Wielded by the gifted draenei priestess Askara, who was given the staff by Velen, to sustain her people in times of difficult trial and hardship abroad the Genedar, the extraordinary healing powers of T'uure's staff gave Askara and seventy other draenei the strength to hold off the Legion during one particularly dangerous encounter, fighting with "the courage and strength of a thousand". Their last stand gave most of their brethren the chance to escape and saved their race from extinction, but as a result, T'uure fell into the Legion's hands for many years afterwards.[1] It was only during the Legion's last invasion of Azeroth that a holy priest managed to defeat Lady Calindris after T'uure absorbed the Light in their spells during their battle, restoring the Beacon of the Naaru to its former holy power at long last.

Turalyon was apparently aware of the naaru's weapon, and that it fell into the Legion's grasp, welcoming the holy priest wielding it as a "torchbearer".[2]
