Sudden Doom is an Unholy death knight talent.

Patch changes

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 5 Unholy talent (was a level 23 Unholy ability).
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13):
    • Now learned at level 23 (was 60).
    • now causes your auto attacks to have a chance to make your next [Death Coil] or [Epidemic] cost no Runic Power (was only Death Coil).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Now learned at level 60 (was 64).
  • Legion Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13): Sudden Doom now procs 20% slower.
  • Legion Hotfix (2016-08-08): Sudden Doom's chance to activate is now increased by melee attack speed (was Haste).
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Now longer requires Unholy Presence.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): No longer passively reduces the cost of Death Coil.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.3.0 (2013-05-21): Now requires the Death Knight to be in [Unholy Presence] to activate the effect that causes Death Coil to cost no Runic Power.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.1.0 (2012-11-27): The responsiveness of Sudden Doom has been improved.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now a level 64 Unholy ability (was a tier 6 Unholy talent) and also passively reduces the cost of Death Coil by 20%.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Sudden Doom is now triggered only from main-hand auto attacks, and is normalized according to weapon speed rather than having a fixed percentage chance.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Changed from tier 8 in Blood to tier 6 in Unholy, and redesigned: Your auto attacks have a 5/10/15% chance to make your next Death Coil cost no runic power.
    Old: Your Blood Strikes and Heart Strikes have a 5/10/15% chance to launch a free Death Coil at your target.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Now procs a free Death Coil instead of requiring you to push the button. Ranks reduced from 5 to 3.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Added.
