Kor Dawnchaser[1] is one of the twin sons of Sunwalker Dezco and Leza Dawnchaser. He and his brother, Cloudhoof, were born in the Krasarang Wilds and their mother died in childbirth.[2] Their father carried them with him at all times in baskets strapped to his back and chest. He was called Redhorn as a "weaning name", and when he came of age he was given his true name. Dezco named his twins after a deceased old friend and a hero who helped him in the Krasarang Wilds.

When Dezco was leaving the Vale, he was attacked by quilen, and Redhorn was torn from Dezco's body and carried away. Ignoring Mokimo's pleas to allow him to carry Cloudhoof to safety, Dezco gave chase and found Redhorn in the grasp of a group of Shao-Tien mogu. A fierce battle ensued, and at the last second Mokimo placed himself between Redhorn and the mogu leader's poisoned blade, suffering a grievous wound in order to save the child. However, in the heat of battle, Dezco failed to notice his second son Cloudhoof, apparently safe at his side, crushed in his basket. With one child dead and the other dying from the mogu's poison, Dezco and Mokimo made their way to one of the Vale's sacred pools, the pool of hope. Forced to leave Cloudhoof at the waters' edge, the two invoked the powers of the vale to heal the child. A vision of Chi-Ji appeared, reviving Redhorn. Afterward, Redhorn was taken in by the Golden Lotus to be raised as a part of their order[3] to help heal and guard the Vale of Eternal Blossoms when he grows up.[4]

After the defilement of the Vale, Redhorn was left in the care of Mokimo in the Shrine of Two Moons.

At some point, Redhorn was given the name Kor, and his father journeyed to the Shadowlands and hoped to inform his mother of how he had grown.[1]

Following the destruction of Dalaran, Kor accompanied the Horde fleet when they sailed to the Isle of Dorn to aid in the war against Xal'atath.[5] He was later seen on the beach with the Alliance and Horde forces, sparring with earthen trainees, with his father watching over him.

Gossip

I was raised by Golden Lotus, the caretakers of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Dad always meant well and, after the passing of my mom and brother, wanted to secure a bright future for me.

I am happy to travel with him now. The Maruuk and the green dragons both aim to protect their lands... a cause that is dear to me. The Dragon Isles are filled with wonder, just like the stories I've been told of the Vale in its glory.

I am glad to help how I can.

Name

Redhorn is not intended to be the child's true name: the Dawnchaser tribe carries a rare tradition of giving weaning names to children, until they are old enough to receive a true name.[6] By the time of Shadowlands, Dezco revealed that he had been named Kor after Kor Bloodtusk, as he promised.[1]
