The recipe was created by Verna Furlbrow before she and her husband Theodore Furlbrow tried to leave Westfall for Stormwind City. When their wagon broke down, she asked a passing Alliance adventurer to deliver her recipe, which she quickly scribbled down, to Salma Saldean as a gift. Salma continued to make the stew, and eventually it became known as her recipe instead.
