Ranger Orestes is a blood elf Farstrider.
He and Aenea do not appear to be the closest of friends.
History
Mists of Pandaria
Orestes accompanied Lor'themar Theron to the Valley of the Emperors during the Alliance-Horde war. He and Blood Knight Aenea were tasked by the regent lord to fight their way through the valley and capture a mogu warlord for questioning.[1]
Legion
During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, Orestes traveled to the Broken Shore along with a group of Farstriders. There, he joined forces with Vereesa Windrunner[2] to track down Alleria, Vereesa's elder sister and an old Farstrider herself, along with her fabled longbow, to ensure they do not fall into demon hands. Orestes pointed out that the mission was solely a personal one on Vereesa's behalf, which the Windrunner denied.
Orestes was instructed to remain behind while Vereesa and the hunter champion braved Niskara alone but disobeyed the order (admitting to having "never been good at following" them) and entered the demonic realm regardless. There, he was mortally wounded by Mistress Torvis, and an angered Vereesa swore to avenge him. With his dying breath, he encouraged Vereesa and the hero to save Alleria. Vereesa told the fallen ranger to rest in the Light[3] and went to report his death to Halduron Brightwing.[4]
