The Protectorate is a faction of ethereals formed in reaction to the obsessive search for vengeance of the Ethereum ruling class. They consider that the Ethereum are as great a threat to their existence as Dimensius the All-Devouring, the void lord who destroyed their homeworld of K'aresh. Commander Ameer appears to represent their interests in Outland at the Protectorate Watch Post in the Netherstorm.

Background

This section concerns content related to The Burning Crusade.

Ultimately, the Ethereum came under assault by both the Alliance and the Horde heroes at the behest of the Protectorate. Not only were all their operations stopped, but their leader, Nexus-King Salhadaar was killed as well. On the other hand, Dimensius the All-Devouring itself arrived in the exploded ruins of Manaforge Ultris in Netherstorm, where he was defeated by the Protectorate aided by adventurers.
