Prairie Dogs are a type of ground squirrel found on grassy plains throughout Azeroth (especially on Kalimdor), as well as in both versions of Nagrand.

Prairie Dogs, Rabbits and Mice can be seen occasionally donning helmets and rifles on a plateau high above Stonetalon Pass, Mulgore.
In Season of Discovery, [Prairie Dog Musk] allows hunters to tame Prairie Dogs as companion pets.
