The subject of this article or section took place during the War of the Thorns, the Battle for Azeroth pre-launch event.

Orgrimmar Grunts are orc grunts that participated in the War of the Thorns. They first appeared with the Horde army led by Varok Saurfang in the Northern Barrens. They arrived to the secured Astranaar in Ashenvale with Varok and Warchief Sylvanas. Later, Sylvanas took a portion of the grunts to face Malfurion Stormrage at the Twilight Vale in Darkshore's border. Malfurion briefly rooted them and once they freed themselves, they charged at him only to be killed by the wisp wall.[1] The rest of them went to the Zoram'gar Outpost. From there, majority of the grunts left with Saurfang and Nathanos Blightcaller to Felwood in order to find a passage through the mountains into Darkshore. Sylvanas took other group of the grunts and entered into Darkshore.[2] They attacked the elven units in the Master's Glaive[3] and the druids of the claw at the Grove of the Ancients.[4] Soon after, they took the Blackwood Den and defended it from the Frenzied Blackwood Furbolgs while others remained in the Twilight Vale behind the wisp wall. They were also at Nazj'vel and later joined the battle near the Wildbend River.

During the Wildbend River stalemate phase, the grunts are seen at the Grove of the Ancients with the Monstrous Shredder. During the final phase, they attacked Lor'danel and the forces stationed on the beach next to the village. Ultimately, they were seen gathered with the rest of the Horde army at Mist's Edge witnessing the Burning of Teldrassil.
