- Fullmetal Alchemist — Neena is a reference to the Nina Tucker, who would become a human-dog chimera.
- Marvel Comics
[Malfunctioning Goliath Gauntlet] is a reference to Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet, with which he eradicated half of all life in the universe with a simple snap.
[Axe of Storms] is a reference to the "Axe of Angarruumus" as both axes are described as "it hums with magic".
Gaming
- Among Us —
[Amidst Ourselves] and Lords of Dread mechanic fight are a reference to this game.
- Dance Dance Revolution —
[10-70 Daily] Dance Dance Darkmoon and
[Dance Dance Darkmoon] are references to this music videogame that includes a "dance platform."
- Grand Theft Auto —
[Grand Theft Shadehound] is a reference to its title.
- Simon Says — Simon Sezdans is an obvious play on this children's game.

- A Song of Fire and Ice - The quest
[60] Winter Be Comin' is a reference to the phrase "Winter is Coming," popularized by the novel's TV series, Game of Thrones.
- The Bible - The quest
[60] Oracle, Heal Thyself is a reference to the popular phrase "Physician, Heal Thyself," that originated from the book of Luke.
- The Lord of the Rings — The line of the Winter Queen "In place of a Jailer you would have a Queen, as cold and beautiful as the winter. All would love me and despair" is a reference of the Galadriel's quote in Fellowship of the Ring "Instead of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! [...] All shall love me and despair!".
- Ringworld — During
[60] What's My Motivation?, Choofa mentions that he once met someone who "appears as a big cat thing" and came from a world shaped like a ring.

- Black Sabbath — Osbourne Black is a reference to this English rock band and their lead singer Ozzy Osbourne.

[53-60] Through the Fire and Flames is a reference to their power metal song Through the Fire and Flames.
- Led Zeppelin —
[Snowstorm]'s journal entry is a reference to the opening lines of Led Zeppelin's 1970 Immigrant Song: "We come from the land of the ice and snow / From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow."

- Pandemis and his gossip text are a reference to the COVID-19 pandemic.
[Ardenweald's a Stage] is a play on the phrase "All the world's a stage".
[60 Daily] Doing the Dew — The quest name is very similar to that of
[15-40] Do the Dew, both references to "Do the Dew," the slogan for the Mountain Dew brand of soda, which is popularly associated with video gaming and previously had even partnered with Blizzard for a promotional campaign featuring exclusive flavors of the soft drink based on World of Warcraft.
